Agriturismo Montecastello

A week at Fontecastello with perfect weather and excellent and attentive hosts. We had self contained appartment with kitchen and outside eating area and it was ideal for us (does have internal stone stairs). Swimming pool was cool(!) but clean and the surrounding area is safe for walks even in the dark. Ten minute walk uphill to the town where there is supermarket, Tourist Office and bus station . Train station needs a car and is 15 minutes away for Sienna or 30 minutes for Firenze. Owners are local family who farm the land and provide their own very good wine for 5 Euros a bottle (one free). Makes a great base for exploration.
