Great location at river side.
Paradise for our golden retriever.
Spacious room, bedding ok.
The staff could be more helpful, 
We made a reservation for dinner, but when we arrived at the restaurant, they didn’t find our reservation, so we received  a dinner box to eat in our tent, this was very uncomfortable.
We had the feeling that the staff tired, and careless

So good last year we returned!
The lodges are excellent. Complete relaxing atmosphere amongst stunning scenery.  The food is superb and we canoed both years and it is a slick and efficient service. 
Staff are very friendly and the beach truck and sun shade areas are very welcoming

Excellent- would recommend!

in stark contrast to other places we’d stayed on our six week trip in France, we found the hosts to be extremely unwelcoming and unhelpful.

Around midnight of the last nite we were there, we discovered a broken pipe in the kitchen area which was flooding the common area and our room.  My suitcase, with my clothes inside, was flooded because there was nowhere else in the tiny room to put it except on the floor.  We struggled to find them because they hadn’t given us information on what to do in an emergency which this was rapidly becoming.  When we finally DID find them, their attitude was very dismissive toward us.

We checked out the following morning, as planned, without any mention of the incident, never mind an apology. 

Flooding in the Ardeche, but not from the river!

We stayed for 3 nights and everything was super! Very friendly hosts, speaking excellent English but helping if you want to practice French. The food on the terrasse was excellent, far better than we expected.
Hired canoes from here too and had an excellent 3 hours on the river. We were driven to start of river and picked up.
Lodges are fabulous - this is a totally unique environment and one we are glad to have got to after having to postpone due to Covid

Superb stay!

We booked but we changed plan, so we tried to contact them in order to arrange the booking. For 24 hours no-one answer to the  phone...after that we talk with M.me Corinne, who was asked to change our booking: she close the phone call,,,So we tried to book with Booking and we succeded, but the Director told us that we were not welcome and cancel the booking. Definetely a prehistoric behaviour.

WORST CUSTOMER CARE EVER / MONEY LOST

When we arrived first the owner was not happy to see we were two men, a gay couple. 
She obviously expected a straight couple. As our dog jumped out of the car on the closed parking place after 4 hours in the car she already freaked out, that she need to be on a leash, which we did right away. To enter our room you need to go through the restaurant. Our dog escaped the (very small) room twice as the terrace of the room is open. Both owners freaked out again that she was walking in the (totally empty!) restaurant. This is not a place to take a dog, or to go as a gay couple. They have two dogs themselves, who spent their living in a cage in the garden.  We don't treat our dog like that. The beach is great, but they say it's forbidden to picknick, which doesn't make any sense. We left after three hours instead of the 4 days we planned.

Don't go

Booked ,but then had to cancel due to Gov quarantine being implemented. They take half the money as a deposit, but I cancelled in plenty of time for a refund. No refund arrived so I emailed them and got a reply saying they issued refunds on the date of the booking. Now they have gone missing. No response to emails or telephone. I see they seem to be closed at the moment, but you can book for next year. Be my guest, but dont be suprised if they steal your deposit. Meanwhile I now have to go to the credit card for a refund. If you insist on booking with these cheats make sure you use a credit card.

Where's my money.

This place is quite unique and spectacular. And, of course, during Corona times, staying in an independent tent is the best place to be. It really feels like being out there, somewhere in the middle of nowhere - just you and nature.
But the conveniences are near... the restaurant serves a very good and varied breakfast!. And the dinner we enjoyed was great too (but there is only one choice...)
The only negative point was the jacuzzi - too small, not heated and with doubtful water quality

Spectacular loc<tion

Stunning location, we booked a 'lodge'. The fabric of the lodge was shoddy, bathroom sink that teetered on it's pedestal, mosquito not above the bed that was well past it's best, hot tub grubby and most of the controls didn't work, nowhere to hang your coats. On the whole, the reverse of luxury. Asked about an evening meal for special diets, didn't even get a response. If it weren't for the location, there would be nothing at all to recommend it.

Staff pleasant, room ropey, vegetarian food non-existant

Prehistoric Lodge has a three hour check in window (4:00-7:00).  We arrived late and they had no room available for us, even though we had already paid in full for the night.  Customer service was rude an unaccommodating.  We wound up driving 2.5 hours back to Lyon because we couldn't find another place to stay.
