The 6 person form was very hot, and after speaking with a staff member we were told the air conditioning in the room would be fixed the next day. Speaking with a different staff member the next day we were told that the AC was left over from the previous hotel owners and do not work at all, and that we would just have to put up with using a fan in the room. This was despite "Air Conditioning" being advertised on the page, which I believe has now been rectified.  We were told in a condescending tone that "this is how hostels are in France" despite having stayed in several french hostels all with AC. 

The shower head in the room was also broken, however as my travel companion had left a low rated review of the hostel, we were told unless the review was removed the shower would not be fixed! Very unprofessional conduct from the staff. The review ended up getting edited, however the showerhead was not fixed and we had no further communication from the staff. 

Not much atmosphere either despite having a courtyard which would be a great bar or common area.  Location would be the only positive about this hostel.

Good location but not much else

We stumbled upon this hotel when our accommodations fell through. We were warmly welcomed with offers of coffee, jus, and beer. The location between the Saône and Rhône allowed us to explore much of the beautiful city of Lyon on foot. The room was large, clean but very plain - TV did not work in our room. Breakfast was available and reasonable. This hotel is under new management and it may be a future hidden gem. Thanks again to Maximilian and Olivier for all their help.

Great location and very warm "accueil"

The location of the hotel is probably the only good thing about this hotel. The rooms weren't great at all. All you could smell in the room was onion. The hotel staff were so aragant. If you step outside your room without shoes on the staff come at you like vultures crying. The doors don't shut properly so make sure it's closed before you leave and if you don't have the key on you the only way to shut the door is to slam but you do that the staff start shouting again. All in all this hotel is waste of money I would never go back and don't believe the pictures you see as they are nothing like the real deal. Also as 4 English lads going away for a weekend and it states that there is a bar but when you get there, there is 2 pumps but no beer. Load of rubbish

Waste of money

We stayed in this hotel to celebrate new year's eve of 2015. The hotel staffs are very nice, they are always ready to reply to your question with smile. 
We paid €75/night which is not expensive considering it is well placed (1 block away from Hotel de Ville & 2 blocks away from Opera). There's no minibar in the room but a fridge with cold drinks/snacks is located next to the reception, with acceptable price. 
Another thing to note is the water in the shower, it's hot! This is very important if you like to take shower everyday (we take 2/day).
The WIFI connection is free of charge, you just need to hop on/off from one to another (sometimes it gets too crowded at one point and you can barely get connected).

However we also note some negative points regarding cleanliness of the room & the area around the toilet. We noticed the upper side of the cupboard is very dusty (some fell off when we put my make up bag). 
Around the toilet seemed as if it was never mopped (lots of dirty spots)!!!
The bureau in the room was not in a good condition, the only drawer is on its way to fell off any moment. One of the night table is very lean because one of its leg is almost dislocated. 
Another thing to notice is the heater in the room. It was NOT hot, barely warm. Fortunately we recovered additional blanket from the lady in the reception.

Nice reception & good price but nothing to look further

Centralized, this hotel is in the presqu'île area, you can go on feet to old Lyon and also to other touristic points. There is a metro station near and also markets and restaurants. One man in staff speaks English, but he don't work 24h, so you will try your luck on arrive. There isn't elevator in the hotel, be prepared to climb a lot of stairs with your luggage. Room seems better on photos provided by the hotel, do not trust 100%. Wifi never works. There isn't fridge in the room. You can ask for a hair dryer, it is ok, not very good. The bathroom door was very difficult to close, sometimes we needed to kick it to close and the same to open, the shower is a classical one (the same we have in our house!) but there isn't too much water, hope you don't take a shower in the same time as other guests. They never exchange towels and sheets unless you ask. Always leave your luggage locked: in the second day when we arrived the door was unlocked and a little opened, luckily all of our things was ok. You will feel sometimes you're in a hostel, but they will insist they're two stars.
