13 reviewsMy boyfriend and I were initially nervous to stay here because of the reviews, but we couldn’t pass up the deal (540 pesos / night - approximately $25-30 USD). We are so glad that we did because it was a steal! The hotel is situated far enough off the main tourist part of “La Quinta” or “5th Av” to be quiet, yet close enough to walk to plenty of restaurants and shops. Public beach access is only two blocks away. The room itself was basic but very clean. We had a queen bed and a twin bed, flat screen TV, mini fridge, and a small foldable desk table. The beds were comfortable enough, although clearly not high end mattresses or pillows. The bathroom was also clean and modern, with a nice shower and hot water (which is not always a guarantee in Mexico). The multiple pools were what drew is to choose this hotel. We enjoyed hours each day by the rooftop pool and we were frequently the only ones on the terrace! It was delightful to have the whole rooftop to ourself despite the fact that there were clearly plenty of guests staying in the hotel. The staff was also friendly and helpful. I am not sure if they speak English as I only spoke Spanish with them. They were attentive to fixing the air conditioning unit in our room within an hour of when we reported an issue with it. If you’re looking for a luxury stay, this isn’t your place. But, if you are looking for a great budget hotel near the center of Playa del Carmen and just blocks from the ocean, I highly recommend it!
