The dorm was very noisy and I didn't get a decent night's sleep in the 4 days that I was there. Plus the barman was dishonest, didn't have any change and kept avoiding me. Otherwise the place, location and staff are fine.

Noisy Dormitory

The vibe is amazing and the guests are always welcoming and willing to join in and have fun together.  The hostel has pretty affordable prices. The entertainment area is great for chilling or catching up with some emails. 

However, the kitchen area leaves a lot to be desired. There are not enough utensils and the stove and sink need serious attention.

Amazing vibes with a lot of room to improve

When we came, the receptionist was eating and told us to wait for the payment in the room till she´s done. There wasn´t any shower head in our shower and the hot water wasn´t working. Some repairman came to fix it, when we ask for it. There was a mold on the walls and the ceiling in our bathroom.
Public kitchen was disgusting. Dirty stove without buttons. Almost no dishes. We had to ask for it in the "restaurant" kitchen. And the employees were cooking their food in the public kitchen, so because of the lack of dishes and two broken hotplates, we had to wait to cook our food. 
There were 4 public toilets but only two were working. Pool was dirty and not useable. 
I really do not recommend this place.

Dirty and broken

We had bed bugs in our room, the self-catering kitchen is extremely dirty and disgusting, loud parties until late, the pool was dirty and not useable, the place is run down in general, there was rarely someone at reception. I will never ever visit this place again.

Never again!

Private en suite rooms were basic but fine. Fans did the job well till the power cut. Beds were comfortable. A nice poolside bar, with mostly cold beers and water. Staff were friendly but a bit of lack in communication over breakfast. The inclusive breakfast is basic (toast and cereal) but dinner the night before was great: I had a very good (and reasonably priced) steak and chips. 

Nice for a night between journeys

Nice staff. Hotel has a nice pool and relaxing area. But it all goes away when you you realise the hostel has bedbugs, which got in my luggage and I am currently suffering its bites and trying to get rid off. I found a bed bug in the room the morning I was leaving, I pointed this out to the staff, they said they would deal with the problem. The issue is The problem was transferred to me, and I will end up spending way more money than what I spent at the hostel.

The price on expedia is wrong. Also there are no towels and the staff is absent all the time.

Nice looking pool but wouldn't go in it. Food and room was alright. Nothing particularly stands out. A good place to spend a night in Lusaka before onward travel to Malawi in my case. Simplistic and normal.

Does the job for a night

We ended up staying here twice in one week as the location was very good and the facilities were good. The first time we stayed our room was directly off the common area and we found it a bit too noisy, however we gave it the benefit of the doubt and went back for one more night later in the week as a pit stop from our travels. This was a terrible decision. We were in a different room from the first time so I was hopeful that we would get a better night sleep. It was a Monday night so I was expecting it to be quiet, however, the noise was unbearable - people shrieking, shouting and drunkardly singing from outside the building and inside. This continued until 3AM. Things eventually quietened down but we then had the pleasure of listening to someone vomit and moan four times outside of our bedroom (we were next to the toilets). I have stayed in many hostels but this was a truly awful nights sleep. In total we had 3 and half hours sleep as we had to be up early to catch our next bus. I booked through Bookings.com and my booking confirmation stated that we received a free breakfast with our booking. We ordered our breakfast from the menu but were then told we had to pay. I showed my email confirmation to the staff on reception and was told that this offer wasn't included with our room. When I showed them further proof that our booking included a free breakfast, staff told me that Bookings.com have been telling people lies about them. After much debate, we eventually got our money back for the breakfast but I was not impressed with customer service.

Won't be staying here again.

Easy to find- near enough to the main bus station. Nice dorm rooms, mozzie nets provided. Good kitchen facilities and also have a small affordable menu. Quite noisy at night if your room is close to the bar- which is fun and buzzy!! But not too much of a problem. Would recommend if you’re passing through Lusaka.
