This guest house was a good choice for basic accomodation for a couple of days. The staff were very friendly. Functioning WiFi and Aircon (when there is not a power cut affecting most of zambia currently).
The breakfast was very average with very limited options, I would recommend eating elsewhere. Value for money would be difficult to judge as it seems Lusaka lacks basic 'economy' options, so perhaps this is the right choice.

A basic accomodation option

My wife and I spent our first and last nights in Zambia at the Tanuger Guest House. On our first night, we arrived late at the Lusaka Airport and left early the next morning. We were able to make arrangements in advance with the Tanuger to have a taxi meet us at the airport when we arrived at night and at the guest house early the next morning for our departure. Although we were unable to enjoy the breakfast or the grounds on this first visit, we appreciated the airport transfers, the helpful staff who greeted us, and the comfortable accommodations.

On our second visit, we arrived mid-day and departed mid-day. During this visit, we were able to appreciate the quiet setting within the guest house grounds, the breakfast (included with the room), and the convenient locations near the Manda Hill shopping center and the Metro (a pedestrian walkway over a busy intersection several blocks from the guest house). We also enjoyed walks around the National Assembly building grounds and the Agricultural Exposition grounds nearby.

The owners and staff were very helpful and welcoming. The WiFi worked well.

Two details prevent me from giving this place an excellent rating:
1) On our second night stay, the hot water in our shower only came out at a trickle. We were in a different room from our first stay, when the shower worked great. I did not raise this with the staff, so do not know if this was a unique occurrence.
2) Lack of top sheets on the beds. For both night stays, the beds were made with only a bottom sheet and a comforter. Although the comforters appeared to be clean, it is hard to imagine that the comforters are washed on a daily basis between guests. Again, we did not take the trouble to mention this to staff, so I do not know if a top sheet could be provided on request.

Quiet location near shopping and restaurants

I booked a two-nights stay for my family at this guest house. We were expected by the staff, given simple, but absolutely comfortable room with all necessities including good-speed Wi-fi. The staff was very friendly, attentive, I didn't need to call them twice. Good semi-self catering breakfast. Perfect location. Given that they are renovating and expanding, I expect the stay there will be even more pleasant.

Nice place to stay

Everything you might want from an affordable guesthouse: large rooms, nice yard with a swimming pool, very convenient location with the extra of the extreme friendliness and helpfulness of the owners: they made our stay very warm and pleasant. It would definitely be our choice if we go back to Lusaka!!!

Very friendly place

Service was almost not exist, no one to ask questions or recommendation. 
many people that doesn't seems to be guests. 

Very awkward Dormitories, not inviting at all. 

The only good thing is the location, few minutes walk from a big shopping center.

Can't understand all the 5 star reviews here

I had a first time booking at this lodge booked 4 weeks in advance. One week before my arrival in Lusaka they cancelled the reservation.  Just be careful, your reservation may not be as solid as you think it is.  Keep your second choice close at hand.

Last minute cancellation

A quaint and cosy easy stay will all amenities. Great décor and hospitality in a fun filled international feel. The pool is a lovely attraction.  The new modern and elegant chalets are pleasant for all folks and have a family friendly feel. 

located in Lusaka's CBD a quick and easy location to get anywhere in Lusaka city within 20 minutes.

With Manda Hill around the corner one of Lusaka's main shopping mall with executive  and business services, a great place to meet fellow work colleagues or associates. 

Definitely a place to stay in Lusaka if you are looking for something affordable with a luxury feel. The owners are always there with a great team to assist you as much as they can.
