Back in Vung Tau for two nights that might stretch to 3 nights if the VIP LIMO leaves early enough for my friend to catch his international flight out of Tan Son Nhat in Saigon.
It's so nice to be greeted with a big grin from the friendly receptionist at check in. The aircon had already been switched on in our rooms so we stepped into cool rooms from our ferry trip from Saigon.
It's like home away from home.

Vietnam never disappoints! Good food, cheap accommodations and warm people. I could not recommend his hotel more. The room is cozy, soft linen, clean bathroom. They offer bike rental so you can go around and roam the place. Fast decent wifi too. Just wow!

Cosy place to stay. Near the church. Few good eating outlets there. Quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Good entaintaiment area. Recommend for solo travellers. I have being there a few times and will be going again in August

We booked this hotel on line as it was listed as inexpensive and handy to most places of interest. My room was very good, large bed, clean linen, big bathroom, fully tiled. The security safe could be picked up and carried, so I did not use it. My room opened onto the street and across the road is a large Catholic Church. I do not know why these people ring the bells and sing hymns over a loudspeaker at 4-30am, but they do! First morning I was awakened, after that I ignored it. Staff have limited English, but they do try to communicate. Adjacent to the hotel are a Bar and Coffee shop, one on each side. The coffee is amazing, at 70 cents Australian a cup. Taxis are cheap and it is not hard to get around. The hotel hires push bikes or scooters at reasonable rates, if you are courageous enough to ride!!!! There is no restaurant in the hotel. A man with a street cart pulls up out the front most mornings and cooks delicious Vietnamese waffles.....wash a couple down with the coffee and it is a great breakfast. Laundry is free, and items are returned to your room in 24 hours.It is only a walk of about 400 metres to the beachfront. Some of the more luxurious rooms have a microwave and a large refrigerator, you could ask on booking if they are available....they cost $4 per night more.Each level has a balcony overlooking the street. There is no elevator.I will definitely re-book this hotel on my next journey to Vietnam.

I needn't have worried as I was greeted like a long lost family member. Even given a loyalty discount.
Same cheerful staff so I don't know what I was worried about.
Looking for a centrally located hotel in Vung Tau then this is the place to stay. You won't be disappointed.

Situated between the Front and Back beaches with plenty of nearby dining options.
Very pleasant staff and clean rooms.  Water not replenished daily, no tea or coffee in room although a jug and cups.

This hotel changed ownership during our stay so will be interesting to see if things stay at a high standard or drop off.  

Nice Bar downstairs which is leased by a British Expat.

It’s a charming hotel which is located next to an interesting church on a small square. Despite the attractive outside the hotel would need a little more care to qualify for a boutique hotel status.   
For instance my premium deluxe room had giant holes in the curtains, there were some equipment piled up in one corner. 
All in all I enjoyed my stay. I liked this part of town better than the windy beach with its tall buildings on the other side of town. 

Pleasant small hotel in Vung Tau 

The Sasavuta Hotel is an older well maintained premises in a quieter section of Vung Tau yet only a five minute walk in any direction to find something to do. Out the front door to the  left 5 mins to Bar Area, straight ahead 5 mins to the beach and to the right 5 mins to the shopping area. There are many eating options which ever way you walk. The hotel itself is clean and reasonably quiet for a Vietnamese Hotel. Breakfast was not included at the hotel however there is a good cafe adjoining the property should you wish to eat there. Wifi was ok when it was finally connected, here were technical issues that took a day to sort out. The water pressure was good on the 4th floor (no Lift) and there was abundant hot water. The rooms a air conditioned and ours has a large window that could be opened to take advantage of the sea breezes. Overall a good comfortable basic hotel.

Budget hotel with a bit of class

Pros,we had one of the bigger rooms which was very spacious its actually 2 rooms so double a normal hotel room a bedroom and a lounge room.
Bed was very very comfortable as were pillows
Flat screen tv that worked on all channels.
Nice old architecture
Quiet at night.
You can move the room safe anywhere you like or take it out with you?

Cons. reception doesn't speak much English or didnt want too.
Reception not the friendliest or most helpful
Fridge empty and not turned on for a long time.
No tea or coffee or water but a kettle and cups?
No free daily in room water
No bathroom amenities other than a  small re filled shower gel/soap/shampoo combo
No tourist information/help even from receptionist
No VT maps even of hotel area, we had to buy a map from a book shop up the road
No breakfast and restaurant attached doesnt open until after 9am .and is fairly expensive for what it is,possibly why it was totally empty our entire stay.
Room safe just sitting on a bench not even fixed down.

Overall this place was very comfortable and clean with a close 10 min walk to bars and restaurants (if you already know the way) but I would suggest this is mainly a single mans guest house type place close to all the girly bars or a couples place that want to frequent only expat bar/restaurants and Its very  reminiscent of a Pattaya long stay room  in the back soi,s 30  years ago.

If you just need a comfortable room with a/c then Sasavuta is good value in a quiet location next to a school and a church.

We enjoyed our stay and have no complaints but I thought  it needed an honest review of what it is.

Not a Hotel more like a Guest house

Used to be my favorite place in Vung Tau but this massive drop of blood on my bedsheet made me reconsider my review of this hotel. 

Last time i visited it was really nice but maybe the period of TET make them lower their standards.
