Sapa Container Hotel

We had a medium room with window, where we spent 1 night. The room was clean and neat, it was simple but had enough to make us comfortable. They also have a very cute balcony on the top where you can enjoy the view with a cup of morning coffee! Very well- recommended!

Convenient, quite, clean!

We had booked a tour through our hotel in Hanoi so didn't get a choice with the accommodation, apart from paying an extra 8 dollars to get a deluxe place to stay. When we arrived at Sapa container hotel there is nothing deluxe about it. To be honest if the weather was better we may have had a better stay but if it is rainy when you are in Sapa avoid this place.

We arrived early from the night bus and the staff were welcoming and even let us check in a room at 6am which was very nice of them. However when we got in the room it had not been cleaned from the previous occupants. The sheets were dirty and damp. However we were told the room would be cleaned when we came back from our hike. 

Before leaving for the hike we went for breakfast, where we were not given any options just served an omelette with 2 slices of white bread after a 20 minute wait. 

When we came back our room had been cleaned, however the dampness remained. We did not eat anymore food at the property as the breakfast had put us off to be honest. 

The staff are nice here, however they seriously need to get some heaters or dehumidifiers in the rooms. The rooms do not look like they do on the pictures. 

Nice staff but damp room

Blankets were dirty, wet and with mould. The room wasn't clean (you could find hairs on the floor, dead mosquitos on walls...) Bathrooms were disgusting, with lots of dirt on joints... There was a lot of (cold) humidity. Our clothes were all wet when we packed.

Food was nice, but not-at-all varied. For dinner there was a single course you couldn't choose. For breakfast you could choose between omelette or nooddles, served with a couple of bread slices. There was also black coffee or tea available. We didn't stay in the hotel for lunch, although included, since we were not comfortable.

Staff was just OK. 

Very very bad

The rooms need to be up graded and it can be a much nicer place the sheets on the bed had stains on them the pillow cases were mouldy I brought a sarong just sleep on the bed to scared to sleep on the sheets ..and the bathroom is full of mould yuk !

DON’T DO IT!
We got to this place because of our sapa tour we booked from Hanoi. We wanted to take back the bus to Hanoi at 4pm when they told us it couldn’t so we had to wait until 10pm, bus was fully booked. No problem because the hotel manager told us we would get a free meal and a shower before leaving. So hours later when we came for diner they told us we had to pay for it. Well we payed but we were confused since they told us it would be included. So after diner we were looking forward for a hot shower.. and then we also had to pay for shower towels. Obviously we were not amused cuz again we had to pay for something they told us it was included. The shower was in the room of the hotel staff. The room was disgusting and full with trash and old food but the worst was the shower that wasn’t working!! When I went to the reception to mention the broken shower they told me the showers wasn’t working in all rooms! When we asked if we could try somewhere else they told us all rooms were fully booked. Yea right, while diner there was like 4 other people. Those people really don’t want to cooperate and even worse they’re not honest! If they would be honest about the showers not working I wouldn’t be mad cuz it’s nobody’s fault. But they sold us towels while they knew the shower was broken!  Also the guy working in the kitchen had a wound on his eye with pus coming from it. Yikes if you let someone like that work in a kitchen! Really bad experience. Such a disappointment since all other Vietnamese people we met are so honest and friendly.
