May Nui Sa Pa Hostel

Large comfortable room, owners were very accomodating (sorted out a room upgrade after a mixup with the onine booking and allowed us to use the facilities after a day of trekking even though we had already checked out). Good location, very near centre and at a very reasonable price.

We stayed here for a few days and found the family extremely friendly. Although the father spoke very little English his teenage daughter enjoyed translating and practicing her English with the guests. The family always asked us if we wanted tea or coffee. 
We arrived from Hanoi  before 8 am and made our way to the hotel even though check in was not until 1 pm, but the lady on duty called the owner who arrived several minutes later and made sure the room was cleaned for us so we could check in early. The hotel was very central but those of you who don't like to make your wat uphill should find another place as it is a 10 minute walk from the area where the restaurants are located. Rooms were clean and big enough.

Stayed here with my girlfriend for a night. The room was very clean with a few free items such as a toothbrush and toothpaste. Sadly did not come with a towel but luckily we brought a spare of our own. Upon checkout, the hotel were kind enough to hold our bags for the day until our bus that evening and even let us have a (cold) shower to freshen up before we left. 

This is a very budget accommodation, and we didn't pay a lot to stay here. 

The staff were very friendly, and although didn't speak a lot of English, made us feel very welcome. 

The room itself was fine, and the bathroom, although very basic, served it's purpose. There was no toilet paper provided, however. 

The main problem we had was with the sheets, as they were thin and too small for the bed. As a result, we ended up sleeping on a plastic mattress protector most of the night when the sheet would inevitably come off. 

The bedroom got bright very early (around 6am), with the curtains doing little to shield the light. The place was quite noisy too, so sleeping in was not possible for us. 

The place is right up the top of a hill, so be prepared for a small hike. There are no lifts either, so make sure you can handle stairs. 

Having said all this, it was one of the cheapest accommodations without going to a dormitory or home stay. If you are prepared for it being a budget stay, then it is fine. 

Property is located close to the city centre but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Good location to go north to the Cable Car or to work south to meet trekking guides. Owner is friendly but speaks little English, not that that is a problem. His daughter speaks very good English and was also very helpful. Rooms are large and water hot.

Rooms weren't particularly clean and were facing a road, which throughout the night had large trucks rumbling up and down. Plenty of barking dogs and chickens too. The accommodation is quite basic and should probably be advertised as a Home Stay more than a hostel. We were up quite early generally but if you wanted a lie in past 8am and were on the second floor it would be impossible with the noise from the TV downstairs/general shouting.

OK, for a short stay. Friendly staff. 

Good staff and location but not as good as expected

A warm and friendly hotel

Cheap and cheerful

After checking this hostel reviews we decided to book. 
We thought the high hill won’t bother us
But it was. 
(Without luggage you can go up and down no problems.)
It’s far from center of Sapa
Far from restaurant far from Bar’s 
Market 
And nobody want to start hiking at nighttime. 
If you’re coming with a bus
And you still book this hostel
TAKE A TAXI WITH THE BAGS.

Electric blanket but we didn’t sleep with it
Very cold at night!!

We moved after one night because we want to be in center of Sapa
We wish we can afford us to stay but we knew we use taxi up hill... 

Good value for the money BUT

Friendly staff and they just wanted to help with any problems we had.

Bed was rock hard but the electric blanket was great. Very cold in the rooms as no heating so would not advise to stay here during the winter!
