We travelled in December 2017 for Christmas in a group of 10. We had 2 family rooms and a double. The rooms were very clean, air conditioned, all with little seating areas outside. Pool is sparkling clean and the breakfast is lovely. Only eggs but delicious. The staff bent over backwards during our stay, especially Truc. He is really trying to learn English and is doing well. Walking distance to Long Beach, mini marts, restaurants and taxis. About a 10 minute drive into Duong Dong. The bungalows are built into the hillside but not too many stairs. We will definitely go back and stay again.
There is also a backpackers with dorms.

Me and some friends wanted some where cheap in Phu Quoc island close to the beach and not to close to Dong dong. The staff spoke limited english however they went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We were brought fresh orange juice to our room when we arrived and cleaned our room daily. My friend also became very ill and the owner drove her to the local hospital free of charge and acted as a translator for the Dr. As my friend was recovering the staff brought my friend free home made soup and a special herbal tea to help her get better. The staff were really amazing and it had a nice family atmosphere wpuld really recommend.
The beach is 5 mins walk across the road with various bars and restaurants on the beach (Free beach resort restaurant-good food on the beach and incredible sunsets.)

Great budget stay on Long Beach

The Perfect Hosts

We stayed at Khanh Duy Bunglow for 4 nights. The location is really good and the hotel looks lovely outside. The rooms are basic, but fine, if that is what you are looking for. The breakfast was basic, but it was easy enough to find other places for breakfast by the beach if you don't mind paying extra. The staff were nice, but didn't speak good English so they were not as helpful as other places we have stayed in in Vietnam in terms of providing local information. 

Nice but basic

Well overdue for some renovation works, the "gardens" are a mess, the pool is a deeply concerning yellow, at least preventing anyone from going in, and making it worse.

Big gaps n the ill fitting door, and window frames, suggested that mosquito nets might be an idea, or at least some cans of protection in the room.  Breakfast is avoidable.  The beds were generous, but the room was cramped.

We were advised when checking out that the credit card connection had not worked for some time, which, as were just had time for breakfast before heading to airport, immediately turned into a last minute hunt for a cashpoint, instead of breakfast, so thanks for that.  If you can't take credit cards, don't keep it a secret when we check in, we can plan check out much better.

In need of help

Rooms are simple, bed is super hard, hygene could be emproved (stains on towels, mops of hair in the shower), but overall was ok.

Pool is very nice but I don't think maintenance is done regularly.

Breakfast was very very poor, they didn't have almost any of the things on the menu (and when they had, didn't taste any good), horrible coffee. 

The girl at the reception desk was nice and could speak good English, but she was never there and was difficult to find. The rest of the staff had absolutely zero English and was simply very rude, all the time. As others said, we really didn't feel welcomed, they never replied to our greetings or "hello", never a smile, just a very harsh look in their eyes. 
That was ridiculously awkward.



Pretty rude staff

We arrived late in the evening, the women was not really nice and did not say hello. When we asked to check in, a man showed us the room. The breakfast was bad. We tried different options for three days but it was all horrible. Not even pepper and salt available for the eggs.. during our breakfast the host family was having breakfast as well. We felt unwelcome and they were watching and laughing.. no 'hello or good morning' at all! The family is constantly yelling and screaming to each other. We saw the waitress spitting while serving the food. (There are other places to have a normal nice and cheap breakfast close by) 

The room was really smelly. It smelled like mould , we had to keep the door open for a long while, but it was a horrible smell. The bed is really hard and uncomfortable.
There are nails from other people under the bed, we were looking there because I lost something.

The shower looks nice, with stones in it. If you look again you see old bandages and loads of hairs in between the stones. 

I'm not sure why, but nobody says hello when you leave or come back.. if you say hello you're lucky if they say something back. 

The swimming pool is nice and clean.

Minibar is not working.

No windows in the room.. and it's next to a really busy road from Long Beach. I would recommend not to stay near the Long Beach. It's really dirty and busy, I would recommend to go a little further so you can enjoy the beautiful nature around. 

we were really disappointed about this kan duy place, we thought about leaving twice, but we had already booked it for a few nights so we did not want to pay for two places. 
We talked to a really nice boy who used to work at this bungalow place. He was really enthusiastic about it, and good, but I think that they need him back.. or somebody with a little bit of a feeling for customers and maybe somebody who speaks a few words of English.. that would be great. 
I hope they will hire some good enthusiastic staff so they will be better in the future. For now? Don't go there it's horrible !
