We stayed for a week in febuary and had the best time. The pool area is great and there are a couple of good beaches nearby. The staff is wonderfull and helpfull. The beds are long and proper matrasses :) we thought the location was perfect, quiet but with lots of nice places nearby. Will come back! 

Island Life has been one of the best hostels I‘ve stayed in during my travels. 
Clean, the nicest staff ever, great vibes. Sam and all the other staff will make sure your stay is amazing. 
If you are looking for a good time on the island, Island Life is the Place to be.... and whilst doing so always go for the avocado salad at “So True”. You owe it to your taste buds. 



Went to Phu Quoc and stayed at Island Life for New Years Eve 2018 and a couple days after. My stay at Island Life was perfect. The people that work there are so friendly and really do their best to make your stay enjoyable. The hostel is located out of the main city, but it is close to some great places to eat and get coffee. It is also only a short cab ride from the city. 

I highly recommend staying here. The hostel moved to a new location recently and most of the rooms as well as the pool is new. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable! I went with some friends and we stayed in a private room, which was great! Also breakfast and coffee is included is the morning, which is a big plus!

Amazing place to stay!!!

We stayed as a couple in a double room and this hostel has it all:
- Excellent staff
- Swimming pool
- Pool table
- Breakfast
- Bar

Perfectly located in the colonial zone, you walk out the door and are right in the beautiful part of the city. 

Park either on the street or in secure parking around the corner (overnight).

This is a small, laid-back hostel with a homely vibe and chilled atmosphere. 10 minutes walk from the beach and the local bars and restaurants. Owner Sam is really friendly (and owns the equally impressive So True restaurant). He is willing to answer questions or take you to the beach and during the season there are beach bonfires. The girls who work here are also very friendly although sometimes you have to explain what you mean a couple of times for them to understand. There is a free breakfast too which you have at the small open bar at the front where you can watch people, cows and stray dogs make their way down the road.  There does not appear to be a set time or menu for breakfast; you just rock up around 7am and one of the friendly ladies cooks it for you (usually omelette or banana pancake). Drinks are not included though and coffee costs 20,000 dong. There are lots of small bugs and mosquitoes here but your bed has a mosquito net. There is no guest kitchen or anything like that, the 'common room' is the table and bar at the front. Only minor criticisms are 1. Someone ate some of our fruit from the fridge, 2. The fan in the room can be very loud and 3. Empty shampoo packets and old soap etc are left in the showers for days.  Definitely would recommend this place to stay.

Nicest place we have seen on the island. They are having the most wonderful and friendly staff members who will always help you out with anything in about a minute. You can’t find any place cheaper and still get a lot for your little money. The breakfast is delicious, the rooms are super clean and the little bar in the front is a good place to have some beers and get to know the other guests or the staff. It’s pretty close to a very nice beach and when you’re lucky, the actual hostel owner might take you to see the plankton ;)

The most amazing place to stay in Phu Quoc! The guys who run this hostel deserve all the credit of making and creating the vibe which resonates through all the guests! Sam the owner is the nicest guy you will meet and speaks exceptional English. Pleasure to have had his company!! Hung and the rest of the crew also do an amazing job making it a fun place to be. If you are after a laid back family atmosphere vibe, a short walk from the beach and many good restaurants, with great wifi, hot showers and exceptional breakfasts then island life is the only choice. Nothing is too hard. Already planning my next visit back to see the plankton ;)!!

I absolutely loved my stay at island life! The real ‘island life’ feel with only a 10 minute walk to the beach which is stunning. The hostel is small enough to easily interact with other travelers and really makes you feel like you’re at home. Nice if you don’t want to be in the busy town and want to relax in a quieter area. I was there over the new year and Quy organized a BBQ on the beach which was amazing and a bonfire afterwards (his boat tour to the islands is also the best tour!) I wish I could’ve stayed longer and loved everything about my stay! I will be back!

It was perfect to stay there. The accommodation and the staff were excellent. The staffs and guests there were so friendly and helpful. It is very easy to go to Ong Lang beach, and having swimming there. Especially at night, there was "Lan Tinh" in the sea water, It was amazing and fantastic. I would love to come back.

After a few months of traveling I found this place and it turned into my home. 
I stayed here almost 2 months in total. 
The atmosphere created by people staying as well as working here is magical.
Family dinner, bonfire, karaoke, cooking classes, cocktail classes, boat trips, beaches, hiking, ... all this and more are activities you can do ether alone or with your island life family. 
It was hard to leave "em" but I will definitely come back!
