We arrived in Nha Trang and went to another hotel we had previously booked could not stay there as right next to a noisy building site, so wondered off to find another hotel. That’s when we found the Oriental, the staff were amazing gave us one of the best rooms on the eighth floor with a veranda overlooking the sea. Super large bed, very clean and comfortable. The room is cleaned daily in the morning, so ready when you come back from the beach. There is a roof top pool and sun loungers. The staff have been very attentive, replacing missing items and when our safe was stuck. Can’t fault the place and cheap to.

The staff is very good. I enjoyed being the first Canadian several staff had ever met. Most guests are Chinese and some Russian. Great location across from the beach.
The card key is an ongoing problem so I would suggest to have patience.

We entered this hotel on spec, having refused to stay at the hotel we’d booked on line as it was next to a building site and it was clear for us noise was unacceptable. 

So we found the Oriental Nha Trang to be excellent value for money. We did have a large Seaview room, which was more than adequate.  The breakfast was fine, the staff could not have been more helpful. 

Due to the Sea Festival we were unaware of, we did not book until the last minute for Nha Trang accommodation. Rates were up at all of the hotels and we were limited with our budget for choices. The Lammy became a pleasant surprise. It was clean, conveniently located and comfortable. Breakfast was included and although catered more toward Asian tastes, there were lots of choices and it was plentiful. Rooms were quiet considering we were right on the main street and we had a great view of the beach and sunrise each day.

Floor 9 is best room. Card key did not work each day was a problem.

We stayed here for 2 nights.  The rooms are a reasonable size, the bathroom is quite good.  The location is excellent, as the beach is directly across the road.  The staff are helpful and the breakfast is ok. 
Now the bad.....
First night we could here music playing close by and it was difficult to go to sleep. Then there was building work outside, first thing in the morning.  On top of this, there seems to be a lot of Chinese people staying here, who like to talk in corridors, the hotel reception, anywhere, at the top of their voices.  They also like to leave the doors to their rooms open,  so that everyone can hear them. I think that management needs to make it clear to their guests that other people stay in the hotel also, and they should be considerate of them.  I witnessed people sitting near reception on a number of occasions, talking at the top of their voices.  Perfect opportunity to talk with them and ask them to respect others. 

Some good & some bad. 

This is a 3 star hotel, but only if you stay in the most expensive room (we stayed in the optimistically named "Superior" room.

The hotel has a general run-down feel about it from damaged walls to bathrooms with Windows that won't quite shut.

The public areas like breakfast hall, coffee shop, lifts, corridors are not airconditioned.  The room airconditioner worked but was noisy. 

This is not a cheap hotel and for the same price you can get better in Nha Trang.  We were disappointed.

On the plus side,  it is very close to the beach and central park!

Overnight stay

Room 1006 was reasonable and the location was good,a right across from the beach. However the venue was let down by th very limited breakfast buffet and reception staff's almost non-existent English. In today's hunt for the tourist dollar uni-lingual is not good enough. Fix these two items and it's a good hotel.

What a pity when we did not check this hotel on Tripadvisor before booking this hotel. We felt totally disappointed to spend two nights there.
Room was extrembly terrible and we could believe what was going on there with the Owner, Management, and the staff???
We did not want to tell more about this hotel because we got enough.
Never stay there again if we come to Nhatrang.

Oh My God............................

Got a room with no windows, which is not what you want on holiday. Spoke to reception (communication VERY difficult) who agreed to move us to a sea facing room in 2 days time, 2 days passed, we packed, got ready to move... but the staff had no recollection or knowledge of any move - so we were stuck in a room like a prison cell for the duration of our holiday. Good location, but this, coupled with the fact breakfast is served in a room stuck in a time of the Cold War, means we wouldn't stay here again and I can't recommend it.

Rooms with no windows!

Stay away from restaurant. I would give it a minus 10 if I could. Whatever is described  and pictured is not what you get. I ordered stir fried chives, picture on menu showed chives mainly green with white, but we got bean sprouts! Then when we pointed it out they got an attitude. Asian chives come in green and white, but they claimed photo depicts bean sprouts and thus we ordered that. No we did not. We ordered chives. We hate bean sprouts. No where did it mention bean sprouts. 
 We also ordered crab soup which in photo is all white.
 Instead we hot orange gelatinous soup with fake crab chopped up.
 Run not walk-- away from this restaurant.  Do not be deceived like we were. Awful food, and service. Worse we experienced in all of Vietnam.  They should be shut down for torturing tourists and for giving Vietnamese food a bad name. Shame on them .
