We just love it. Everything is working well and staff is so helpful and honest. Air conditioning, refridgerator, own bathroom.. Awesome! They book your trips and take care of your laundry etc. Prices are very cheap.

I booked a Koto room in advance before arriving in Hanoi, via Hostel World, their website, and also by email. Be aware that if you do this, they might not get the information quite right--I had to wait to get my room on arrival because I wasn't down in the reservation book! Otherwise, it was well worth it. We took a room with two beds and a balcony, which, including breakfast, was $16/night. We enjoyed it so much we chose to stay there another night. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable, and all speak a reasonably good level of English. The rooms are big, bright, and clean, though a few are windowless, so be aware. The included breakfast is served across the street at their sister hotel, Bodega Hotel, on an upper floor. Staff will always help you cross the street to get there. 
We stayed at and looked at some other hotels in Hanoi and many were moldy and poorly cared for, so for me Koto and Bodega are easily the best deals available in the old quarter!

We enjoyed our stay at Koto hotel. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We stayed dor four night before heading to Halong Bay.The location was perfect for exploring the Old Quarter. It seems pretty quiet being tucked away like it is. Great to have internet facilities on site. Great value for money. They helped us to book our Halong Bay tour as well. Getting there and getting on the right boat definatly wasnt as straight forward as we were told and we ended up on a different boat than the one they booked for us. In the end it turned out to be an amazing few nights in Halong Bay. We then headed back to Hanoi and stayed with Koto Hotel again and got them to book our transport down to Hoi Ann. Which was a bit of a nightmare as well. Overall Koto Hotel was an awesome place to stay. If we were to go back to Hanoi I wouldnt hesitate to stay with them again but I would hesitate to book tours tours/transport with them. Probably just a language barrier thing.

Tasty, great cultural experience. staff,  great service. 
Had the chicken lemongrass and chilli. Beef and veg spring rolls. Excellent Vietnamese coffee too. Had santa handing out gifts to all in the restaurant too. 
              
              
              

The restaurant was light and airy if slightly hotter upstairs where there is no air con. Food is fresh and delicious and service excellent. Great cause too! Go there as a matter of course- if you can find it- sign is small!
