Dinh Thanh Cong Guesthouse

Fantastic price. Clean room with TV, fridge, good wifi, towels and toilet paper. Handy guidebook with info.
 Mother and son very sweet - we used google translate to communicate. 

No breakfast but ample cafes and restaurants with 2 minutes walk. Waterfront 10 min walk away. Would recommend using Victoria Hotel swimming pool for $5/day!

NB if helpful we paid 40,000 Dong for 2 people from bus station pick-up on motorcycles

The small room we stayed in was clean with a quiet aircon. The bathroom was very small but clean with reliable hot water. The bed was quite hard (as are most beds in this region). We thought the room was good value at the low price paid.

The room contained a very good tourist information pack written by Kim (daughter I think). This was useful as the family who own/run the hotel speak very little English - but they do try very hard to help. They will phone Kim, who speaks excellent English, for a translation if needed. 

The hotel staff sorted our onwards transport into Cambodia which went smoothly. Well done.

There are no on-site catering facilities.

Located at 170 Trung Nu Vuong it is a good 15 minutes walk to the river/boulevard but there are numerous restaurants locally along Trung Nu Vuong. It appears the road is developing fast with new hotels and restaurants under construction.

We believe Dinh Thanh Cong Guesthouse is an excellent value (budget) hotel and we would stay again if we return to Chau Doc.

This bit is nothing to do with the hotel - One thing we noted in Chau Doc was the amount of mosquitos/insects compared to Vung Tau and Saigon where we'd travelled from (late January 2017). We all know about insect protection when travelling but this one surprised us. Do take repellants etc.

The place is a little walk out of the center but within the range of the free bus station shuttle (Futabus). Spacious rooms, large flat screen tv, fridge, aircon, good bed.
The street is dotted with beer gardens, ktvs, coffee shops, and some vip massage places. But it is all low key and no hassles.
 The owner has prepared a small guide in English with maps and numerous suggestions for good local food, transport options, sightseeing

Good value

Nice clean, good value local hotel in a good location.

The landlord and staff are quite nice. 
The most concerned things: there are condom in night table, it was shocked. There was no drink, even payable one. The room was in high humidity.
Assuming they could improve the room conditions, at least, a bottle of fresh water, toilet tissue and clean up the room

This hotel have  not good location, it's look a little bit old. The staffs are not profesional and not friendly at all. It's okey if you just stay fewer than 3 days. With me, i prefer near the river, there have many store, restautant and activities.
