Second time I've stay here as a solo, female traveler. The hotel feels very safe and staff are friendly (though English is limited). Each morning you get to eat breakfast on a beautiful patio by the water--highlight. 
Con: Internet cuts in and out. I usually go to GONY cafe one block over to work. 
Tip: I'd recommend paying about $5 more a night for a nicer room. The minimum room is a bit claustrophobic and run down, though clean.

Safe

Not the best hotel in town, expensive for what it was, but we decided the fantastic view was worth the downsides.
That, and every other place we tried was full.
The staff had almost no English, and gave us poor or wrong information. Occasionally surly. Management really needs to get the staff to clean the place occasionally
The one saving grace of this place was the river view on the 4th floor. We stayed an extra day.

Get the riverview with a balcony

We stayed here for one night during a Mekong Delta tour. Dirty threadbare carpets in the hall and on the stairs, sand in the elevator, bathroom reasonably clean but in need of repair, huge cockroach in the shower starring at us, questionable sheets and cover, lots of mould on every wall, lampshades hanging by a thread.

Excellent location with a good view of river activity.

This is a hotel in desperate need of refurbishment.

A worn out Princess not worth $29.00 a night

Booked this hotel based on the reviews on trip adviser, what a dissapointment. Yes granted it is right on the river and close to the food market but that is about it. We checked in without inspecting the rooms (first mistake). The lady at the reception must have been having a bad day and was less than happy to see us. We took our luggage up to the room, the elivator door opened and our faces dropped, the carpet was filthy and full of holes and this was outside our room. The door to the room was perspects covered in contact, no security at all.The room was large, but smelt, I then went to look at the bathroom ,it looked like the people before us had just left and nothing was clean, there was a strong smell of urine. We were very dissapointed with this hotel as we had spent the last 4 weeks travelling through Cambodia and Vietnam staying in fantastic and spotlessly clean hotels for a lot less than this one was charging. My advise is to do what we did, check out and find something else.
