Hien Guesthouse II

We stayed 2 nights in a nice, clean room with a balcony, and booked a boat tour of the floating market through this guesthouse. The staff is very thoughtful, often offering us complementary fruit, and they even woke us up at 5:30am for the tour when our alarm didn't go off. Good people, good value.

We stayed at Hien guesthouse for two nights, because we wanted to visit the floating market. The owners were very friendly and organised a tour for us (for $20 dollar per person, which is cheaper than you get if you go to the tourist pier). So at 5 am the next day we were picked up and had a fantastic 7 hour trip to two floating markets and all the lovely scenery mekong delta has to offer. The owner even wake up at 5 am for us, to make sure we were picked up! 
After we came back from our trip, the owner helped us with our bus trip to our next destination. She made a reservation for the bus and made sure a shuttle bus picked us up right at the door. We kept telling ourselves how lucky we were with such great service. The lady was so nice and also spoke (and especially understood) English very well! 
The location of the guesthouse was ideal. Within two minutes we reached the night market and a lot of restaurants. The guesthouse itself is hidden in a tiny street without any traffic. This makes it a quiet place! However, the only downside of the guesthouse is the fact that the walls are thin. Even though there's not much noise, a tiny sound could wake you up. You will be fine if you bring some ear plugs. 
We would definitely stay here again!

Great affordable hostel with incredible service

Helpful, friendly and clean

Bit expensive motel like guesthouse in Can Tho which I dont feel tourists will like. The entrance to the room is bit scary and through a narrow ally. The owners are more interested to book the tour which I feel not much worth although its bit cheap. 
Mrs Hien is a nice lady and very much helping and co-operative however the room which is very near to kitchen (basic room) costs around $6 without any additional benefits. 
It is better to stay in the other guesthouse where owners are not staying although you will feel it is very expensive.

Motel like guesthouse

I've stayed in this guesthouse for 2 nights on the last week of december. I didn't have  the energy to move to another place although my room was inappropriate for living. 
Earlier to my arrival I called the hostel by phone and asked for an inexpensive room. 
They said there is a 6$ room which sounded OK for my budget. 
On my long tour of Vietnam I sleeped in many 6$ rooms where many of them were surprisingly good. 
Nothing prepared me to such a horrible room. 
Its locarion at the end of long narrow corridor,  together with the frying point of rhe family citchen make you all rhe time locked between smelly fried food,  ants visiting the pantry,  public toilet and bath without soap and various noices. 
However,  that informal unclean atmosphere doesn't compensate you by a personal treatment. 
I asked for a Mekong Delta tour with a boat; those tours are sold for 10$ all over Can Tho. 
At 5 pm they told me I must upgrade to a 15$ tour which includes 2 floating markets. 
Being forced to decide in the last minute I agreed to pay 15$ instead of the common 10$. But all my 4 boat partners paid 10$ and none of them was asked to upgrade. 
I don't like to make such business regardless  the additional 5$. 
 Moreover,  hundreds of tourists made the same route as me and my partners for 10$

I got a horrible room  but that's not all

Family  house functional.  Staff sit on your step - hassle to go to shared bathroom. Man shouting loudly at 6am.  Unfriendly. Pretend to be nice.

Second guest house - nice because you don't have to deal with owners and staff.

This family is fake. Not nice. Especially the guy, Creep. Don't leave any thing of value in the room.

Worst place I have stayed due to the people.
