Such a beautiful resort and total luxury. The staff are amazing, we had fantastic service  would have no hesitation in recommending this resort. The staff were very good and helpful, some went the extra mile to ensure that we were all happy. Which was appreciated.

I came to Bac Lieu for a wedding and this hotel was suggested for all wedding attendants. I was expecting to be in a hovel, but after check in I was shown to a lovely, comfortable, and quite good sized room! The room had a lovely terrace overlooking the fantastic little lake - very quiet, just the sound of nature. A real break with life in HCMC! The room had everything that you'd expect, except a fridge but that's fine. I happily note that the beds were MOST comfortable, not the super hard ones that are often found in hotels in Asia. The breakfast was a la carte, local fare, but the beefsteak was tasty and the coffee strong. My only qualms - water pressure a bit low, and the mosquitos on the lake were a big annoying. But worth it for the view! I didn't manage to find time for a swim, but the pool looks really nice, we'll maintained.

For a small city in VN, this resort is the best for the service and price.  Only $25/night when I stayed in July 2019.  The staff is very nice.  I booked the wrong date when I arrived but they took care of the switch without any charge.  They allow early check in when the rooms are available.  One of the young ladies, named Duy, is very kind to the customers.  She offered drinks, bringing ice, bringing laundry.  We feel very comfortable there.  The owner happened to play tennis with us on their tennis court.  We will come back if we have another chance.

Hot water is not always available because the hotel uses solar energy (we stayed there in a rainy day, we didn't have enough hot water ). 
It has a lot of mosquito (the mosquito net & pesticide are available in the room).

This is the best hotel in Bac Lieu I have stayed. The price is very reasonable. Spacious room, clean and good services. Restaurant at the hotel is good and cheap too. 
Definitely will come back here when stay in town.

This is a good place - quiet, good food, lovely rooms and fast Internet. Bac Lieu city is also a quiet place with few scooters and cars. It is heaven compared to Ca Mau and Rach Gia. Bac Lieu also has wide streets and some of them are tree-lined.

Hotel is located 2km far from city center. Rooms are new, spacious, clean, nice lake view, decoration in Vietnamese style. Each room has a big balcony so that guests can stay there to admire beautiful landscapes. However the toilet is quite simple with shower only, no bath tub. In the evening guests have to keep all doors closed as there are many mosquitoes. Breakfast is a la carte. Swimming pool is nice.

Ho Nam Resoort

I have already reviewed Ho Nam Resort once and not much has changed.  However, on our second stay, we were told that there would be a staff party which should end at 10pm.  Well, it did not.  It did not end until 1am with staff demonstrating their voices through a karaoke machine.  Needless to say, it was not the best night of sleep one was hoping for.  On the upside, the front desk manager was friendly and helpful.

For those who have to venture to the far South of Vietnam (or miền Tây) as the locals call it, Ho Nam is perfectly ok place to stay.  It is functional, clean and the room is spacious.  While I would not stay here for an extended stay, for a couple of nights, it is fine.  The location is a bit out of the way but the upside is that it is quiet.

There are two downsides that overseas travellers need to be aware of.  The first one is that the food here is not great, perfectly ok but not great food.  Secondly, during the rainy season, the mosquitoes are in abundance.  Certainly, one will need DEET (40%) insect repellant and if you don't want to catch Dengue fever and don't use any of the natural repellant!

And it is good value for money.

Perfectly fine place to stay

Surprisingly big resort, considering the smallish number of rooms, especially the restaurant, which seemed to be popular with locals too. Villa room was large and comfortable - two bedrooms, each with shower/bathroom, a spacious living room, and outdoor terrace. Aircon worked and hot water was fine. Room was excellent value for money. Pool was clean and golf range was fun. Food at the restaurant was generally good, loved the spring rolls, and enjoyed coffee by the lake at breakfast  (wouldn't recommend any noodle dishes, though, as they all just seemed to be cooked with instant noodles). Service just ok, rather basic, bit of a language barrier in the restaurant, front desk staff able to communicate a bit better than others. The setting on the lake is nice, even although the lake itself doesn't seem all that clean. If you are looking for a real massage, do not try it here - the spa is a front for seedier services - our massage session was cut short and we were pestered for tips when we turned down the offers for 'special services'.
