This hotel is very friendly the staff are eager to please.Enjoyed our 10 day stay would definitely come back , our room was bright and very clean . Could have done with been updated The food was excellent plenty to choose from. The pool areas are always kept immaculate.
This hotel is situated at the top of a very steep hill so if you have mobility problems it is not for you .

SMY Puerto de la Cruz

This a lovely family hotel spotlessly clean rooms are spacious clean towels everyday except when maids on days off pool not huge but kept clean with towels provided and a life guard on duty .staff at reception very helpful food in hotel was ok could be betterbut good prices for food and alcohol with newly installed beer pumps hotel is up a steep winding hill but you can take the 115 steps which btw you get used to doing its a short distance to the beach from there and shops restaurant lovely big balcony has clothes airer and sun beds as well as table and 4 chairs some have a bbq too fùlly fitted kitchen everything you need the safe was only 14euros for the week get tv remote from reception remember to return it at end of hol taxi 3 euros from town to hotel big supermarket at bottom of hill prices are fine we did the volcano trip it was approx 38euros excl lunch that you buy at a restaurant on way i felt the lunch was a rip off for what you got for 12euros each but great holiday would highly recommend this hotel for families great views lots of shops nearby 9/10 for cleanliness staff entertainment varied food in hotel room for improvement one of the bar staff tries to get you to buy the dearer food on menu tall guy but pleasant guy ide go back puerto de la cruz is lovely ..usual looky looky guys there manriques lago worth 5 euros to spend the day 2 euros for a umbrella but worth it its beautiful the rancho a parisienne styled restaurant along the main path from beach is gorgeous not expensive the beef stew is amazing the old church is lovely its a very chilled out place in all

Good hotel

An amazing 4 star hotel, easily the biggest and best hotel in Puerto La Cruz, great food and friendly staff, the hotel is right on the beech next to the marina and main strip. The hotel has a two large pools and a private beach with boat trips, very reasonable prices too

Beautiful tranquil Hotel

The hotel rooms are not maintained very well but the hotel was build well and they have a travel agency and scuba diving boat on site.i would stay here again but I don’t care if the paint is peeling on my bedroom walls. 

Nice hotel

The bad:
Takes forever to get a room (1 hour). 
Rooms old and outdated.
Elevators slow. 
Average Food.

The Good:
The friendliest staff (albeit slow) you can find, Always ready to help you with an honest smile.
At this time 4,400 Bolivares (16 dolars) for a room.
The view from hotel room (toward the marina and islands) on a 7th floor.
Location very convenient to many restaurants and "tascas" on Paseo Colon in Puerto la Cruz.
Taxis right at your service.
Great pool and view of the ocean.

Unbeatable for the Price

I came to visit with my girlfriend hoping to find a nice place, and at first it seemed to be. 

I'll try to be brief: I paid Bs. 2.000 for a night in a standard marital room which was nice and had a good view to the backyard and the pool. Problem is, the place felt dirty and wet. The carpet looked and felt nasty, I didn't want to walk barefoot on it. The bed cover felt nasty, it felt humid so it was quite uncomfortable to lie on it. The walls were stained, horribly stained. The tv was an old thing that could probably get you an X-Ray picture  if you stood too long in front of it, and only a couple channels. The dressing area seemed nice, but the mirrors were spotted and the walls in the closet were dirty. The bathroom had a bidet and a toilet that were fine, though flushing the toilet was so loud you thought something would start leaking at some point. It also had a horrible tub, along with an old cardboard ceiling that was just too low for a 6 feet tall person within the tub, let alone someone taller. The shower head didn't work right, for both the tub water and the shower head water would flow at the same time; the lock on it  didn't work. And to top it all off, the tub couldn't manage all  the water and would flood, so your feet would be covered in used water... Or probably water that came back from the drain. Not nice.   Basically the whole room smelled damp. 

The place does have a really nice pool, it offers a yucky but truly good intentioned breakfast, and has a beach shore. The beach is not suitable for humans for you might turn green or grow a tail (No kidding), but this is to be expected in any Venezuelan city. You can always sit at this shore and enjoy the calm and the soft breeze. 

I got the impression that at some point it was a great hotel, but now it's not very well managed. It still retains some of its past glory,  but without appropriate maintenance it's all fading away. 

I guess you could come to this hotel and enjoy their Deals and stuff with your family, for they do have a wonderful pool, and restaurant, entertainment and after all it's in Puerto La Cruz, but to me the room experience is a must and I'm not satisfied with this one, at all. I think that so far, when it comes to hotels, this has been one of my biggest rip offs.  

PS: On and the night lamps had no bulbs! That was just hilarious.
