Posada Angostura

I stayed at the posada for a night as I was traveling from Canaima to Orinoco Delta. It was an excellent choose. It is located at the historical center of the town and you can order diner at the hotel restaurant. The food was excellent. I also enjoyed the breakfast. It was very tasteful. I would definitely recommend it.

We spent two nights at Posada Casa Grande, one on our way to Canaima and one on our way back.

The hotel is gorgeous, a colonial building on three floors the third of which is a terrace with lounge and a small pool with a gorgeous view of Ciudad Bolivar, rio Orinoco and the Angostura Bridge.

The hotel is fabolous in its colonial design, the rooms are very clean, the service is excellent, and so is the food.

Price is very affordable (aprox $10)

We stayed one night here and loved it. It is fully air-conditioned. The interior is stunning and decorated very imaginatively compared to the outside. It would be very difficult to dislike it. There is a roof terrace from which you can watch the sun set over the Orinoco and a small plunge pool.The ordinary rooms are small but comfortable, unfortunately ours had a very large industrial scale air con unit outside which was noisy (room 6). Comfortable beds. The WiFi worked reasonably but only in the reception area.There is a nice restaurant.I had the Lau Lau fish. Simple and good. Breakfast was OK.

I love staying in this posada because the inner garden is spectacular. The rooms are small, but cozy. The downside is the restaurant. Tremendous contrast between the great taste of the interior decoration and the basic, poorly made meals.

I stayed one night here and I loved it. It is fully air-conditioned. The interior is full of ambiance and light. You can't not like it. There is a roof terrace from which you can watch the sun set over the Orinoco.  A small plunge pool as well. My ground floor room was well appointed. Comfortable beds. The WiFi worked reasonably but it the room I could not get wifi on my phone, only on my laptop. No hot water in the shower when I was there. I'm not sure if this is always the case or if the heater wasn't working. There is a nice restaurant. You have to order the food in advance. I had the Lau Lau fish. Simple and good. I had breakfast there- it was included in the price. This was the first place I've been to in Venezuela where a big pot of coffee was put on the table. I cannot stress how important this is for me. The day can only start off well if I have unlimited coffee so this was a relief and a luxury. I saw some complaints about the service but I was treated very well by Kevin, Jessica and the receptionist/waitress-who's-name-I did-not get.
