An excellent choice of hotel to stay in Bukhara. Incredibly authentic hotel in the city center with beautiful decoration and details inside. The feeling that you are coming to visit someone, because as I understand it, it used to be a house and it was converted into a very beautiful hotel. There is also a terrace upstairs where you can enjoy tea in the evening. The owners of this hotel make a delicious homemade breakfast, I really liked it. Therefore, if you come to Bukhara - come to this hotel!

Cozy hotel in Bukhara

After arriving in Buchara we walked around and checked out hotels. We decided to go for this one as the rooms look lovely (the ceiling and decorations) and the inner courtyard of the house looks pretty cool. The price is fair (was around 55$ per night). Not cheap, but given the big and nice room, fair. 
The two brothers running the hotel speak English well. And they really helped us a lot when we were looking for train tickets to Chiwa on the very same night. They managed to organize two of the last tickets. Plus a taxi to the station. That was really a great service. 
The breakfast was okay-ish. But given that we were the only guests in this night, maybe understandable, that they do not offer a huge buffet of fresh stuff.

Great rooms, competent staff

Hotel is well located in the city center. If you travel by car it might be a problem to find a parking place nearby. Hotel has inner patio. Breakfast is cooked by the host every morning, it is rather simple and rather traditional. It maybe noisy inside of the room as walls and doors barely provides silence but overall I slept well.
I have problems to fix the shower in a comfortable position and have to adjust myself to have a shower.
Hosts can provide you a taxi from/to airport but it will be much cheaper to get taxi on a venue. 

Nice location

At 11pm there's no more water. The owner Bhaktior asked me to rate them 10 in booking.com which is not appropriate because he should let the clients rate as per their experience. The taxi is not accurate because when I arrived I was charged 50'000 soms while going back I paid 30'000 soms because I shared with other tourist who paid 40'000 soms, it is totally not fair for the other tourist. My bill is $15.03 but Bhaktior round off the 0.03 to $1.00, somethings is wrong with his mathematical calculation.

The guesthouse is run by a family who are nice and the location is near to the old city center. There's a lot of hotels in Bukhara which have better location and probably facilities, so better pay a little bit and go to those hotels than Rizo.

Average

In general the room was fine. The hosts are kind of overly friendly which makes the stay a bit annoying. The remind you too much to tell about how fantastic our stay at Rizo was to the rest of the world, which I am not exactly doing. 
We stayed a day and next day till midnight, so we had to pay for 2 nights. (we had a night train and had to leave)
We asked to omit the breakfast charge from the stay payment, however the host insisted that we take with us something he called a "lunch-box". At the end of the day the ingredients of the latter were edible ,  no excitement, though.
The street is situated in the old city, almost impossible to get there by car. Just go to the school #26 nearby, to exit the city. Overall the location is good, since it is very closed to some main attraction in Bukhara old city.

OK place but would not go there again

Despite having a reservation, the owner gave my room away to another customer, and did not even tell me, apologize, or offer me any compensation (he told my tour guide as I dropped my bags off in storage before check-in time). He sent me to another hotel that was horrible and I never would have booked it, and he did the same to another guest. He then cancelled my booking on Agoda so I could not leave a bad review, despite charging me for the other hotel. I will never make a reservation at this hotel and make sure to tell all of my friends, as well as share my experience on travel forums.

terrible experience

Nice place overall, with a very nice room, and the owners very keen to help in any way they could. Breakfast is a bit average compared to other places we stayed in Uzbekistan, but wasn’t a problem. Has a laundry service. 

Nice place, friendly hosts

I have nothing bad to say about this place! Everything was perfect. The staff were so nice and helpful and very observant. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The rooms are large, clean and neat. They even have a beautiful terrace at the top where you can chill out. It is the perfect located for sights. It was the best place we stayed in Uzbekistan! 

The best place in Uzbekistan 

Well where do I begin? I am a very well travelled woman in my late 20s who was travelling alone in Uzbekistan. I travel often and have never had a hotel owner make me feel as uncomfortable as Batia did. When I checked into the hotel, he made many creepy comments about my appearance and body. He them found my personal Facebook and was messaging me at 11pm asking if he could come to my room to "get to know me" more. I told him NO I am not interested and 5 minutes later he was banging on the door so I moved the bedside table to the door and blocked myself in. 

The second infuriating thing is that I originally reserved only one night, but extended to two on arrival because batia told me that he could organise a tour guide to the sites outside Bukhara that were only accessible by car. I paid $50 for this tour, then when the guide arrived, he told me it was a tour for the sites IN Bukhara. I effectively wasted $50 to see sites i could easily walk around alone. There was no apology, I missed out on seeing things i wanted to see, and didn't want to give another $50. 

On checkout, he tried to charge me $10 extra but luckily I saved my email reservation which confirmed the price. After this he suggested I take a trip with him, again being creepy and inappropriate!! Before he asked me to leave him a good review on booking.com and tried to pressure me to "do it now!". This experience had a real negative impact on my trip to Bukhara. It's a shame because the hotel itself is nice, if a little dated. I would advise to be very careful of this man.

Property is okay but the owner made inappropriate advances

The hotel is in a very convenient location and the owner is flexible and helpful. I was allowed to check in early and have the breakfast on the day of my arrival instead on the day of departure. Rooms are clean and no issues.
The owner didn't really like the idea that I wanted to pay in local currency instead of USD but then he agreed and gave me an okayish rate for the USD equivalent. I decided not to argue taking into account the early check in and breakfast. Then I paid him 30.000 som (again, double the real price but decided not to argue over 2 USD) for the taxi to the train station on the following morning.
The taxi took me to the station as agreed and then the driver started demanding payment. I explained to him that I gave the money to Rizo. Clearly he wasn't aware of this and carried on demanding the money so I told him to speak to Rizo and then just walked off. This wasn't a pleasant experience at all.
