Stayed two nights here. Staff very pleasant, room very clean, good location, chilled spring water available in the lobby.

Room was small, as you might expect as it's an old building, so it was difficult to put two suitcases on the floor. Breakfast pretty basic fare of mostly sweet pastries. Shower worked intermittently due to low water pressure. 

Absolutely fine for a short stay. 

Modest accommodation, very central 

Perfect location (close to the river and plaza mayor), delicious breakfast, big and comfy bed, great view of the upper room. When we arrived, we were located in a room downstairs next to the breakfast area and bike parking. We didn't like it because there was little privacy and so we requested to change rooms. The staff offered us a bigger room upstairs with a great view of the la plata river for 20 dolars fee/day. The room and specially the bed was better and bigger, and the view makes it worth the stay. The breakfast was wonderful. The staff is very friendly. In the reception there was always an amazing jazz playlist on. We highly recommend staying in Posada Juanita.

Great location and very cozy

This charming, family posada is set in a quirky historical building right in the middle of Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay.  Around the corner from the main square, the hotel is a 10-minute walk from the ferry port, or taxis are available for the short ride.

We were warmly welcomed the moment we walked in the door, and made to feel immediately at home.  Our room, up a narrow flight of stairs in the main building, was lovely - with a view over the tiny patio garden to the Rio Plata beyond.  The ensuite shower room was generously proportioned.  

It is a very quiet position and we slept soundly in the most comfortable bed ever!  The bed linens, pillows and duvet were all high quality.  Everything was sparkling clean.  

Breakfast the next morning was typical for the region:  toast, coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit and sweet pastries.  We were only able to stay one night, but I would have loved to have stayed longer.  If you have the chance, it's a very relaxing and enjoyable place to visit.  We heartily recommend the Posada la Juanita.

A charming Posada and a great night's sleep!

We loved our stay at Posada la Juanita. First, the location is amazing, right smack in the middle of Colonia's old town. You can't beat that. The staff is friendly and so helpful. Breakfast was wonderful, pastries of all kinds, bread, butter, fruit, yogurt, freshly squeezed OJ, coffee! The place is adorable, clean and quaint. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but it's a hotel in a very, very old colonial town, so you should expect it and embrace it. My husband and I stayed in Colonia for the weekend and we loved it. I see some negative comments about this place, but I'm from the US and I don't see what they saw. We plan on staying here every time we visit Colonia and will recommend to our family and friends.

Amazing quaint, clean hotel in spectacular location

Arrived in Colonia before any place open Weather turned nasty and we desperately needed shelter which we found here Not only did Martin invite us in, he served us capuchinno and biscuits And kept us company until the fog lifted If this is the way he treats strangers in need. then I have no doubt he is the perfect host to people who choose to stay at his Posada - which is being renamed after his baby daughter to Posada la Juanita
