282 reviewsWe were looking at going for a wine tasting in a not so commercial/not group setting in Carmelo and came across Campotinto on social media. It has been the best choice - they are so accommodating, starting with the reservation process. Our Spanish is pretty dismal and the person on the phone spoke no English but - as everywhere in Uruguay - things worked out great simply due to the friendliness, patience and openmindedness of the people. The experience itself was beautiful. We received a tasting of their wines in a beautiful setting (just us there) and accompanied by what in the US you would call a beautiful charcuterie board. We had ample time to just sit and enjoy for as long as we wanted. The vineyard also has a restaurant and we had booked lunch there as well - beautiful home cooking and I think going there for dinner in that beautiful setting would also be amazing. They also have some rooms which we only looked out from the outside, but they looked modern and beautiful, with ample privacy.
