I was in town for the week and chose to stay at the Covered Bridge Inn. The location was convenient since I would also be traveling east a few times throughout the week. The staff were friendly and caring, and the room was terrific. Other options in town just didn't compare.

I've stayed here before and really appreciated the friendliness.  That was true again this time.  Affordable rates, nice rooms, well maintained, easy check in, good coffee.  I don't mind paying a pet fee for a welcoming place to stay,

Updates made at Covered Bridge Inn  are very welcoming. .  Entrance with nice morning  coffee,snacks area led to new carpeting in hallway and refreshed room with new bathtub comb, new flooring & decor Hosts provided any request or assistance we needed quickly.

Very delightful gentlemen completed the check-in quickly and cheerfully!

Welcoming, clean, recommended an amazing restaurant.   Good price.   Would gladly stay again if ever that way again.

Room was very clean, it had a recent renovation.  New flooring, paint, microwave, refrigerator, comfortable beds.  The big plus for us is it is pet friendly, we always travel with our small hypoallergic dog.  Plenty of space to take her out to potty, yes, we cleaned up after her.  Quiet neighborhood.  Would stay there again.  Winterset is a nice, clean small town with a lot to offer.  Enjoyed all the touristy sites.

Comfortable place to stay

We have stayed at this hotel many times. It's not fancy but it is clean and predictable. We were in Winterset for the Covered Bridge Festival with a large family group. Half of us stayed here, half at the only other hotel in town, the Cobblestone Inn. Cobblestone Inn was a slight upgrade at a slightly higher price, but it had a much better breakfast!

OK, But A Better Breakfast Would Be Better!

The Covered Bridge Inn is a modest property that could use a few upgrades like more electrical outlets for chargers. Otherwise the staff was very friendly and solicitous of me.  The hallways and public areas are very clean as are the rooms.  The towels are thick and bright white. I was in Winterset for a music festival, and it was nice to come back to a quiet place!

When we first arrived downstairs to have breakfast, the only things available were could cereal, oatmeal, and some oranges.   There was no hot water so had to heat water in microwave for our oatmeal.  When we were finished, the owner came in with groceries with more items.  Some guests had already eaten and left.

Disappointing breakfast options

We arrived over an hour before check in.  The gentleman who greeted us was very pleasant and accommodating and checked us right in.  Our room is very comfortable and super clean.  It is slightly dated.  There is only one plug available to charge our phones.  The bathroom fan was super loud.  However, the cleanliness of the room, comfort of the bed and pleasantness of the staff overcome the slight negatives of our stay.

Property owner was on site and greeted us upon entry. Very friendly and fun. Walked us to our room and even brought us a dvd player to watch the movie “Bridges of Madison County.” Like he said, the rooms aren’t the most updated but they are clean. Parking is plentiful and it was easy to find our room. Would definitely stay here again the next trip.

The Covered Bridge is an absolute delight. If only there were places like this to stay all the time. Bill, the owner, is a gem! He is welcoming and accommodating and takes pride in his business. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable. If you are looking for a 5-star hotel, go to a big city. If you want home away from home, go to the Covered Bridge Inn.

Delightful

We appreciated the attention to detail by our hostess; walking us up to the room and making sure the key worked. The only thing that was a bit frustrating is that at 9:20 on our check out morning, our door was opened (presumably by house keeping). Fortunately we weren't indecent. Next time, knock first or check with the front desk to see if the room is unoccupied.

Friendly, Convenient and Priced Right

The property was nice and clean. The clerk was very pleasant! We would definitely come again.
