The El Ray motel is dated as most Beach resort motels are. Surprisingly the motel had a nice outdoor pool, the rooms were very clean, and it had a mini refrigerator, microwave, and a coffee pot.. There was a restaurant located right next store that other vacationers raved about.

I booked my room without reading the reviews first however, when I read the reviews I was horrified and sick to my stomach and I wasn’t going to be able to get a refund nor was there any other motel was vacancies so me and my husband had no choice but to take it. However when I got there it wasn’t anything like the reviews said it was. First of all the owner was very nice and accommodating to us he wasn’t rude at all that was the first thing that wasn’t true that I read in the reviews but I didn’t get to my room yet so I was still panicked at what I was going to find once I turned the key to the room. When I opened the door to my room I was pleasantly suprised the room was small however it was nothing like the reviews said, it was clean no roaches and mice no mildew on the walls or anything else ghat I read for that matter. So besides it being small which wasn’t a problem Bc it was just me and my husband plus I believe some of the other rooms was a lot bigger than the one that we stayed in if you wanted to bring kids or grandkids. Overall we had a nice stay and I would recommend it to others as well. I would definitely rent from them again the next time that it’s just me and my husband on vacation down the shore.

My trip down the shore and my stay at El Ray

Staff is welcoming and helpful there not the problem . The place is in need of extreme updates physically as well as safety.. steps are a nightmare .. slippery as hell. Also pool access if complicated . Not enough common area near the pool . Family’s in need of a kitchen are forced to stay in the building behind the pool since they have the kitchen then need to travel several flights of stairs . ((( dangerous for elderly and kids alike))) .. balcony’s are tight and a bit scary as all the railings in this place give you a heartache if you have small children. 

Ohhh and the pizza place attached Crazy Junky .. yes you read that right. Very over priced and taste like microwave pizza nasty !!! 

OVER PRICED , OUTDATED AND UNSAFE … SAVE YOUR MONEY . Unless your a couple looking to spend most of your time out of the room .

BEWARE !! NEEDS SAFTY UPDATES

It's an upgrade from sleeping on a bench on the boardwalk only by having a bathroom. If you only need a place to sleep and don't intend on spending any family time in the room, then it will serve its purpose. I commend the photographer for making the room look extremely bigger than it is. The pictures shown are from right after a renovation and the place has seen an unbelievable amount of wear and tear.

Upgrade from a bench

If you want to go low budget this is the place for you, never mind the overall musty smell and 3rd world cliental hanging their dirty cloths on the railings !

Visiting this place will hopefully inspire people to better themselves and improve their standing in society  so they DON'T HAVE TOO stay at a place like this !

Overall I noticed that the rooms where very tight and passage around the hotel in and out was SERIOULSY PRE Fire Code Standards. 

If you like DEVELOPING NATIONS logging standards go for it !

DEVELOPING NATIONS logging standards

The room was hot, it looked more like a run down motel. The service was horrible. They charged us $350 for 1 night and we didn’t check in until 6pm. Asked for extended check out since we got in late was told no. Then charged another $40 because we ended up having another person stay with us. At check out right after I turned in the Keys my son asked to use the bathroom. The owner and his wife said no. Go to the boardwalk, (which was blocks away). I kindly said ok thank you and the wife got offended, started yelling at me then the husband got in my face yelling that we were trespassing because we checked out. When another resident said you can use my bathroom the owner yelled no visitors allowed and didn’t allow us to use the bathroom. My husband had 2 gold chains on and the owner start saying you (bleep) gangster get out of here. We are weren’t there even 24 hours and was treated like poop! I have a video just can’t uploaded on here

Horrible place done stay here

Stay away from this place very disgusting. We have been a while with three years. It was a last-minute deal. I would never ever come back to this place ever again no service. The refrigerator was leaking. The AC was not working and the room was filthy and the owner would not give us money, the worst we ever stayed in Wildwood horrible I could give him. I wish I would give him they should shut that place down the room had a bad smell.

Stay away

The beds were not good and the service wasn't good and the people on bikes were not giving any room for pedestrian and the water park wasn't open until 5 pm the hours should have been changed for the rest of the day instead of 5 pm and my family didn't like it

Bad experience

The place was horrific and dirty. It was like dealing w a slum lord. I lasted 5 minutes and I demanded refund!
I had dead flies on my bed. The bed linen was soiled. The bathroom and furniture looked like it was a product of the aftermath of superstorm sandy !!!
When I looked under the bed there was garbage from the prior people. The air conditioning unit was broken.
It was filthy. In a time of Covid 19 pandemic the place should be cleaned thoroughly!
Even the garbage wasn’t emptied from the prior people.
It was appalling!

Beware!

I arrived after booking with priceline.com. i asked owner if i could stay more time next day. He asked how long and i saifd till 7pm? He opened computer up and found my booking and it was cancelled. He told me it was cancelled and I shouldbe gotten notice. I didnt. We drove 2 hours. He said they are closed. I said i talked to him 2 days ago when entering credit info. He said it was his first day. He walked us out of office. A handyman in parking lot said town is closed and the owner was in office!!! The owner lied! We left today priceline called the office. Got Ronny who said they were open yesterday. They denied any wrong doing. I dont recommend this place.
