Located in Ridgeway, VA, on U.S. 220 heading to Greensboro, just s. of Martinsville, NASCAR Track, U.S. 58 Bypass interchange. A quiet, older, small property (about 25 rooms). Stayed here several times due to regional travelling job in late 1990's , and recently again (mid August 2011), because I missed property and food next door (see later in review). Rooms have brown wood paneling, one window next to entry door. Beds are very clean, comfortably firm. Cable TV with 50+ channels. If solo, ask for $40.00 rate (includes tax), forego telephone use, pay in cash. Best to come Sunday-Thursday. Weekends, NASCAR dates noisier (I run the air conditioner; seems to adequately drown outside noise coming in). Steak House next door offers delicious corn meal hush puppies, serves up sweet lemon tea with friendly, southern accented hospitality. Nearby gas/retail stores sell low priced gasoline before crossing into nearby, higher gas $$ North Carolina. Hardees (closeby) on left  via 220 N. toward Martinsville, just past U.S. 58 traffic light interchange.

Good Low Price for No Frills, Clean-loving Traveler near Martinsville

The bathroom door has a notch cut out of it so the door will close, no hot water pressure in the sink, and nails sticking out of the door and the walls.  No wifi sgnal and no cable, so no TV watching at all.  There were several holes in the walls, lots of damaged furniture and areas, and cigarettes butts were left in the room.  The outlets are worn enough that nothing stays plugged in for very long, including the microwave and refrigerator.  All of our food spoiled because of this; they refused to replace any of it.  When we first checked in, the room was very cold. The heat & AC were inoperative; we had to go to the office and ask them to turn on the breaker.

NEVER AGAIN!

We got to this property at 12 am after having worked my 13 hours and before that flew in from Florida at 03.45. When we got there the incredibly rude man working there told us he had given away our room to someone else and that the hotel was full!!! Every single hotel / motel in the area was full due to a festival near by. We spent two hours talking to Expedia representative, she couldn’t help us at all. And after all this inconvenience she said we were charged the original amount and they would cover another hotel. But we got nothing for our trouble. We are working on a several claims. The hotel did not admit to having done anything wrong…. NEVER EVER STAY HERE !

Stopped here as last resort due to fatigue. Indian owners have been here 35 years,  done no renovations, keep properties poorly. The rooms were very drab, worn out. Sheets seemed like tissue they were so old. The toilet flushed, the sink drained, the tv worked. Sad state of affairs. I felt nervous at the state of the door security. Yikes, never again. Management is tired and not customer oriented. She felt like it was a take it or leave it deal, I almost left. When management is reluctant to let you see the room before you pay, beware! Nuff said.   .    .

A Dive! Keep driving, there's better value north

Run down dirty.   Walked in took one look and left.    Did not stay.  Tub looked like it had not been cleaned in years
