The Nutmeg

We had another wonderful stay at The Nutmeg. It’s very comvenient for Mount Snow skiing and close to some good bars and restaurants. It’s is also very welcoming, cozy and has excellent breakfast. We will be back!

Location was close enough to town to be convenient, but far enough to be nice and quiet. Our room was nice but the “fire place” was pitiful. A nice gas flame would have been better. Breakfast was delicious. More choices would have been great. The cook was more congenial than the owners. Owners were pretty reclusive. The advertisement stated the property had daily housekeeping. This is one reason we chose The Nutmeg. There was NO daily housekeeping service, and that was very disappointing. We would have loved coming back to our room finding it serviced and tidied up. If The Nutmeg does not offer that, they need to change their description.

The Nutmeg was one of our best finds in VT.  Our host Shelly was caring, efficient, kind and hospitable.The Inn has easy sitting rooms for quiet time, game time or admiring her art and fresh flowers.  Our Rooms were on the first floor and spacious.Breakfast was superb, healthy and farm fresh. We will be back.

Everyone was very friendly and the accommodations were perfect. We were able to access the VAST trail right from the property. Unfortunately, we slept through breakfast but I can tell you that the entire Inn smelled fabulous!

This was our 2nd time staying at The Nutmeg, and we’ll be back. A beautiful gem in southern VT near Mt. Snow. A quiet oasis with outstanding breakfast, comfortable rooms, a delightful game room, and very welcoming owners and staff.

acquaints centuries old building with incredibly brilliant hospitality and excellent and filling breakfast.  The French toast are the best for sure!  10 minute ride from Mt. Snow and just down the block from the main Village

Classic New England B&B. Beautiful post and beam styling with tastefully decorated rooms. Comfortable and cozy. The morning breakfast was exquisite. We had a wonderful cup of coffe while waiting for our host to whip up thick cut strawberry french toast with local maple syrup and the chef's special breakfast sandwich. Wood fireplace made it feel like home. Only thing we would change would be choice of room along the street (if you are city dwellers, probably something you are used to).

Cozy B&B with modern touches

We had a great stay at the Nutmeg. Our room was clean and spacious. The complimentary chocolate chip cookies were a nice touch. Shelly the owner was very friendly and accomodating. She gave us breakfast sandwiches to go since we had to leave earlier than when the normal breakfast time started. Will definitely come back.

This is a beautiful place and what I would called a PERFECT bed and breakfast In an very beautiful home style cozy old farm house in the perfectly nestled town of Wilmington Breakfast was superb All home cooked, organic and from the owners gardenService delightful and the area is a great hiking/sky spot (off course is VT)

Surprised to see that the pool was still open! Friendly staff. Beautiful all around. Bed was extremely comfortable and fresh smelling. Soft, fluffy towels in the bathroom. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion provided. Hair dryer.Breakfast was cooked to order and absolutely delicious! Fresh baked cookies in my room was a welcome surpriseWhat I didnt likeDriveway coming into property has a decent sized pothole and entrance is not well lit. I was nearly rear ended as I tried to navigate the pothole Saturday evening after dark.I would recommend repair of the pothole and better lighting at the entrance.

I have a long standing dislike of B&Bs. They usually try too hard to be cute, you can hear every sound in the house, they have an underlying musty odor (usually poorly covered by lavender or something), the food is heavy, and the rooms try too hard to be “unique”. The Nutmeg is the first B&B I will ever return to with pleasure. None of that is true. The bedrooms were classic, with very comfortable beds, the rooms were practically soundproof, the food was amazing (including yogurt and overnight oats), and the overall feel of the house was just welcoming and warm. THIS is what a B&B should be.

First B&B I’ve ever loved

Everything about the Nutmeg is perfect. Check-in was a breeze and Shelley upgraded our stay! The room and entire b&b are immaculate. The bedroom is so cozy, and the bathroom is one of the cleanest I’ve seen. In the morning the coffee is perfect and we took a walk around the grounds which are beautiful and well kept. I can smell breakfast cooking as I type this review!! 5 stars all around. We will be back for sure!!

Very cozy and comfortable! We loved the different hanging out areas. This old building has a lot of charm! Great breakfast options made by Shelly, the owner. The staff is very friendly! The location is convenient to the village area with shops and restaurants. We highly recommend this inn. We’ll plan on going back for sure! Thanks for a great weekend!

The Nutmeg Inn is what you picture when you think of quintessential New England. The Inn is an updated farmhouse. It has modern conveniences yet is still charming and warm. A short drive brings you to the shops and restaurants of Wilmington and it is 15 minutes to the slopes. The hosts and staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. The daily breakfasts were delicious and the breakfast room was lovely.  Thank you Shelly ! Will definitely be back.
