This establishment was so awesome. The sweetest lady at the counter was kind and courteous even though it was very late. Easy check in and check out. Though it was small, it was very nice and comfortable. Definitely stay here again.

Overall, I had a wonderful stay. I did not like the stove.

Owner right on premises, all the rooms are very clean. No noise, smoking, or pets policy. There’s a lot of us that like that. Inexpensive and a great value on a budget.

I’m a Construction worker, 50 and reserved. I look for the best value I can find. This place is remarkable, it’s on Main Street Smalltown, USA. Right next to park, local coffee shops, and small town stores. They have a sign up, “Smoke free, Pet free, Noise free!” I’ll stay here any time I’m in a 100 mile radius!

Hotel check in was Excellent . Staff very friendly..Rooms very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to restuarants and Ymca to work out across the street.

This independently owned/operated motel looks a bit sketchy. It shows its age and obviously, at the prices charged, a lot of maintenance has been deferred through the years.

The rooms are small and slightly claustrophobic, but the windows open and I felt quite safe leaving the front door ajar while I spent time in the room. Like many of the these old down in the heels mom & pops, the motel is inhabited by a lot of itinerate workers who gather outside and chat. They know each other. They are not crooks or criminals, they are just hard working Americans, trying to get by, so don't be put off by their presence.

I won't lie. There was an unmistakable heavy smell in the room, but it was of delicious Indian spices, not of dirt, .mold, or funky shower curtains. The room was not the cleanest, however the sheets and towels were very clean. 

This place is worth a stay if you're on a budge. The location is perfect for an evening stroll through historic, downtown, Van Wert. Don't be shy, get to know Angie, the motel manager. She's an amazing and kind-hearted woman.

Angie, the owner will treat you like one of her beloved children

This is a family run motel, very friendly and hospitable. The building is very old and could use some renovation but everything worked and was clean. I went to Vanwert for the harvest moon festival and friends, just a few blocks down on Main Street, so I just needed a place to stay after. I enjoyed my time there. I would definitely stay again. The prices were reasonable, nothing fancy.

The staff was extremely kind, understanding and generous. Having a hard time finding a ride to Cincinnati, the owner allowed me to remain in the room, without charge, while I figured out my way. Not only did she not charge me for the extra time, she even offered me a plate of food, drinks, snacks, etc. A note about the city Van Wert: There is only one taxi service in town which is closed on Sundays. There seemed to be two car rental companies in town, both of which are closed on Sunday. Cincinnati is three hours away and Fort Wayne is approximately 1.5 hours away. Buses, shuttles, trains, etc. don't seem to be offered in the small town. The room was quiet and equipped with cable, an empty mini-fridge, a full-size stove, and a microwave. If I were to return to Van Wert, Ohio, I would certainly stay at Fountain Inn again.

Nice and clean and definitely worth the money

The building is older and rooms a little on the small side but it was very well kept. The room was clean and the staff was very polite. Worth the money.
