their excellent advice made for a great experience. Never saw a place as clean as this one!

Not a complaint, just a comment... This place is nowhere near "wilderness", so don't think you'll be staying out in the middle of nowhere. It's in the middle of town, a few hundred yards from the traffic circle.That said, It's quiet and we very much enjoyed our stay there. If we find ourselves in the area again, we'll stay here.

Beautiful location-right on the water and very quiet. Our cabin was partially updated; kitchen had everything you could want and the entire cabin was spotless. We really enjoyed the screened in deck. I called twice the day before our stay with questions and had a friendly call right back each time. You pay for the location and for us, it was well worth the price.  We can't wait to stay here again.

We really liked the lovely view directly throughover Everglades! Even saw some Gators & various birds from our veranda! Very spacious & lovely room with nice place to park, laundry possibilities and restaurants in walking distance

A lovely, quiet, peacefully uncrowded town.The other occupants were quiet and respectful.  The staff is wonderful !The villa was very accommodating with everything we needed (except a measuring cup) 🙃. We enjoyed our stay SO much and wished we could have stayed longer.

The situation of these villas is otherworldly.  You're perched on the side of a "lake" (really an open water portion are of the beautiful everglades mangroves) filled with wildlife flying, floating and swimming. The light is so beautiful. 

Cabins are generous and the welcome is second to none. Free canoes available for guests to explore the gorgeous surrounding tributaries.

Don't expect a party. Being brits, my friend and I walked to the restaurants and bars on the other side of town. We didn't see another soul on the streets, and the last bar closed at 9pm. It was sooooo sleepy it made us chuckle. But for a peace and quiet wilderness escape, I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

This is a magical place in a magical place. Lovely cabin looking out on part of the Everglades. We did not want to leave.

What a delightful place to stay!  The owners live at the property and take care of the place like it’s their home, which is to say super clean and welcoming.  I loved our apartment and the beautiful views of the water from the double doors.  The sofa bed, unlike most I’ve slept on, was super comfortable.  Free use of canoes and bikes was an unexpected and generous amenity.  Stayed three nights and loved every minute. Thanks for the great memories.

What a special place

A true gem and a treat for nature lovers

Home away from home

Comfortable one-night stay while visiting the Everglades.  Really loved the screened-in porch overlooking the river, particularly in the evening and when having my morning coffee.  Free use of canoes was a plus. The location is convenient for boat tours of the Everglades or for those who enjoy fishing (private dock with fish-cleaning area). Cooking facilities are included and there are several restaurant options are nearby.

Relaxing stay on the river

Beautiful clean comfortable room with a beautiful view. I was not able to make phone contact close to closing time to let them know I would be late. I got email instructions about their after hours system after I already arrived. None of this is a big deal, but a text message near closing time would have been good.

Enjoy the screened deck right off your dining area or the boat dock down a set of steps to relax and see wildlife. Convenient location with Island Cafe right across the street for breakfast. Accommodations aren't modern but there is a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and screened deck. The manager is friendly and even left me a birthday card!

Waterfront On Lake Placid

We had a great 3x nights stay here - initial feeling is that is it a bit old school, but this adds to the charm of the place. We made use of the fishing poles to fish off the communal dock (you can buy bait across the road / next door) - as novices we still caught lots of catfish, snapper and crabs. There a number of laid back restaurants in town, most close by 8pm. Porch was great for breakfast as the sun rises - also grabbed a hearty breakfast from Nely’s Corner at the EFC across the street.

Relaxing Everglades base

It was our first trip to Everglades City and to this accommodation.  The apartment had a great location by the water and the screened in porch was definitely the highlight of the stay, as we had hoped. The furnishings and rooms have seen a few years, so there were a few marks and scuffs, but the place was very clean, and the kitchen had a reasonable amount of equipment. The bed was comfy and the associated swimming pool just down the road was lovely, again right by the water. Check in and check out was friendly, quick and efficient. We really enjoyed being able to use the canoes they provide here. We'd certainly stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay!

Situated at a nice location right on the river and a large open waterway, this is a wonderfully rustic place to stay in Everglades City. There was plenty of room in the cabin, it was well appointed with everything (and more) that we would need, and clean. The large screened back deck provided a scenic view over the water and the Everglades from where we saw dolphins, many pelicans, osprey, lots of fish jumping, and plenty of undetermined critters - all in wonderful and serene silence. Thank you for giving us New England'ers a good helping of true Southern hospitality!
