We learned this delightful little inn from a local couple we met at lunch who happened to overhear that we were looking for a place to stay that accepted dogs. We were a little nervous when we arrived. It seemed as if we had stepped back in time to a motel from the 1950s. We were so pleasantly surprised to find a very comfortable and clean room with the added bonus of our own screened-in porch overlooking the marina. We liked it so much, we decided to stay an extra night!

We came down from Tallahassee to visit family for one night. This little place is so wonderfully cute and comfortable!! Nostalgic and peaceful! We will definitely be back! Bed was so soft and comfortable! Great hot water!

We had so much fun here. The staff, the locals, and regulars are priceless. We can't thank everyone enough for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. Kim and Peter at the office go above and beyond to ensure you are taken care of. The onsight restaurant/bar is so welcoming and fun. Everyone treated us like friends and family. 

Just loved it. Simple, basic cool place. Eat drink dance relax sleep. W marina. No need to drive. I need to add more words to make this post, but nothing else is needed. I loved it. back up -correction - we loved it! Stewart is cool too 😎

Wonderful experience,  flew in room support MS Awareness held at the restaurant.  WOW blown away by the love for their boss, who is an MS survivor, and warrior for a cure. Food was excellent,  music legends showed up in packs to donate their talents, what a memorable day!

I slept so great at this little inn. It takes a little longer with the bridge closed now, to get certain places but not too bad. I love that they don't use highly scented cleaning or laundry products. I have bad allergies & get headaches from them. Very comfortable bed and soft cotton sheets. Nice view to wake up to, also.

We needed a place to stay for one night in Stuart on short notice but everything was booked.  The Harbor Inn still had a room available and was inexpensive so we were a little worried.  We booked it anyway and I'm glad we did.  It was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located.  Also, it is attached to a nice little restaurant with a beautiful sunset view.  The hotel is nothing fancy and the decor in the room is dated, but it served our purpose just fine and I would recommend this place to others looking for a quick stay.

A Hidden Gem

Perfect,  laid back, marina, great restaurant and bar. Sunset on screened-in back porch. 

Treated like Family. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and The Deck Restaurant  on same property! 

The food is good, the drinks are cold and the staff is great. The outside deck is pet friendly and you can usually find a couple friendly pups their on the weekends. The hotel is very dated but the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.

While I typically refrain from writing reviews, my recent interaction with this property warrants a cautionary note. Upon calling to inquire about availability and prices, I was immediately deterred from staying. The individual who answered the phone exhibited a demeanor that was both coarse and condescending, failing to even acknowledge a simple 'good afternoon' greeting, which I extended twice. From there, the conversation took a turn for the worse. This falls short of the level of service one would expect when contacting an establishment in the hospitality industry, be it a hotel or an inn.

It's concerning that the initial interaction with a property in the hospitality business left such a negative impression about the potential stay, prompting immediate apprehension about what to expect upon arrival or during the stay itself. This is not an experience I wish to subject myself or my family to.

Sharing a word of caution

The Harbor Inn used to be a nice place where my family would enjoy staying when they were in town. The Deck used to be a thriving local favorite. During her last visit, my mother was shocked to find her 'home away from home' neglected and seemingly abandoned. 
There's a sign in the office window that says open, but the front lobby is always locked and there is never anyone inside. The parking lot remains empty, spare the random vagrant openly drinking at 6:30AM and shooting life advice at the breeze.

I thought it fell into disrepair due to covid.  It is now clear there is no attempt being made to reclaim its former good name. It is really sad to see this place abandoned. 
Stuart is such a charming and unique place to live. I hope someone steps in to save this hidden gem before it's just another chain hotel. Or worse, it is just allowed to further decay as a derelict eyesore.
