This gem in uptown Sedona is affordable and comfortable. Nicely appointed and cozy. We would stay here again anytime and highly recommend!

The location was perfect!! The bed in Room 1 was so so comfortable-must have been a tempur-pedic.

The owners are decent and that decency shows in every way.

It was the perfect little room with walking to various stores & restaurants. Great shower; a real pleasure after a long day of hiking!

I liked the convenience of the digital check in and check out.  You are located right near downtown Sedona making it very convenient to go shopping and multiple dining options just a short walk away.  Just park the car in front of the Star Motel no hassle, felt safe. The room was very clean. The bathroom shower water pressure was excellent, and shampoo type provided. Two chairs outside of the room provided a chance to relax and enjoy the active vibrant daily life of Sedona right from your doorstep.  I would stay here again in the future.

Our plans in Sedona were unexpectedly changed due to snow, but honestly, we couldn’t have been stuck in a better place! The location is perfect—everything we needed was within walking distance, making it super convenient.Our room was cute, quiet, and exceptionally clean, which made for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Communication for check-in was seamless, and everything about the experience was smooth and welcoming.The only minor downside was that some guests would gather right outside our door to sort out their check-in, and unfortunately, the door and windows aren’t very soundproof. It wasn’t a huge issue, but a small sign reminding guests to be mindful of others could be a nice touch.Overall, we loved our stay and would absolutely return. The Star Motel was a cozy and convenient spot that made our unexpected change of plans much more enjoyable!

We had a street facing room so we heard cars driving by and could hear our neighbors from time to time, but overall very quiet for a motel. I was a little hesitant with “motel” and some room pics with brick walls, but was pleasantly surprised by how clean and comfortable the room was. The bed was more comfortable than many 4-5 star hotels, sheets and bedding felt higher end, and thankfully an electric water pit for coffee instead of the dreaded keurig machines. Even had organic tea. Bathroom is small but clean and shower is better than most hotels for pressure. Absolutely perfect location for walking to shop and eat - the Vault is delicious and not too far from the motel. Definitely a win for a last minute 1-night stay in Sedona and will definitely stay again next trip to town.

Great location. Basic. Clean. Comfortable.

Thank you, just a couple of things though:1. Needs a full length mirror installed. Place was so clean, quiet at night, and conveniently located.   Verge bus stop just steps away, very handy.Bed was unbelievably comfortable. 2. Would use an unscented laundry detergent.  When I first went in I thought the place smelled alarmingly moldy, but it turned out to be the sheets and towels and the ug scented laundry detergent you use.  I liked that you could arrive and enter suite with code, love that.Thanks no regrets.

Great location! Convenient check in

The Star is a little funky. It's fun and retro. It is a real old time motel. As long as that is what you are expecting it is a great place to stay. Lots to do and places to eat that are easily walkable. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of towels. I wish it had been warmer(no fault of the Star) I would have loved to sit out in the chairs outside our room and enjoy the scenery.

This motel gets a good rating from us because of its absolutely perfect central location in Uptown Sedona, with very convenient walk to shops, shuttles, tours, and restaurants. That’s worth quite a bit and we appreciated it. The other positive was its cleanliness and a very comfortable king bed and great water pressure in the shower. However, if you are bothered by cinder block walls, lack of good climate control, cold floors, and generally very dated ambience and amenities, this isn’t your place. It was very cold outside, and very cold in the room. There was a wall unit which covered both air and heat, so when the hot air was blowing, it was warm but it  immediately cooled down, presumably from the very cold floors and antiquated insulation. We had brought a bed quilt with us, and were so glad we did. There is no front desk area, no personnel physically on premises other than cleaning staff during certain hours. Entrance to rooms is by key code. We appreciated the microwave and fridge in the room. I think all in all, we may stay here again, if in warmer weather, due to the great location, but it’s definitely not for everybody.

Perfect Location, But Definitely No Frills

Very convenient to downtown tourist area. Literally directly behind the shops. Everything is walking distance. That does come with a lot of noise tho. Don’t expect a quiet peaceful stay. You can hear EVERYTHING. Trash truck at 530am and the street blowers at 9pm. Room was nice, clean and tidy but VERY small. Coffee, tea, microwave and fridge. No one on site if you need something. Everything is done electronically. For the price it’s a nice stay. If you want something quiet after a long day choose somewhere else.

Nice but noisy

Pros - excellent location, right in town and walking distance to shops and restaurants. Cute little retro-vibe motel and responsive staff. Easy check in/out with a code (no staffed front desk).Cons- room is dark - only one dim lamp, and limited lighting generally. Floor wasn't clean -- our feet and socks were black with dirt from walking on the floor. No coffee maker or real coffee in room (just packets of instant coffee, which was surprising). It's hard to find drip coffee early AM in Sedona, so a coffee maker or Keurig machine would have been greatly appreciated.

Not sure why this motel got such excellent reviews, it must be the location. The price was very good for a downtown location. The beds were comfortable and the hot water pressure was excellent. There were a couple light switches that didn’t turn anything on. The central AC did not work, but the portable AC worked fine. The bathroom was small. We never saw any hotel staff, which I personally don’t like. Door code was provided by text message and the front desk was never open. Checkout time was 10 am, which is a little early compared to other hotels/motels. I wouldn’t stay here with my wife since she expects a little more niceties.

Decent motel in great location

It was everything we needed with lower price point but it’s an adorable property .  The beds were so comfortable ! No compromising there.  We were very central and walked from hotel to eat etc. large TV, coffee was excellent, and it had fridge and microwave.  Staff was kind and accommodating and accessible by text.  I just loved it … I would go back.  One car per person but adjacent parking at the side of building.  I loved we could pop the window and feel completely safe.
