 The room was very rough and in need of repairs. The whole place seemed a bit sad. Food was good home style cooking. The whole place seemed a little odd. Not good value for money.  Food hygiene seems suspect with food being left out all day with no covers. 
Even though you pay full price for every day you are staying you do not get the chance to do activities every day. On a 2 night stay everything was booked up by the time we checked in. 
Staff were friendly. 

Memorable but not enjoyable!

Liked the rooms, decor, comfort.  We were there 02/24 thru 02/27.   The weather (snow!) and wind did cause many of the events to be cancelled, which was unfortunate.  But the food was AWFUL!  The ranch was rundown and in need of many repairs.  It felt like a super low-budget operation.  I will NOT try any other True Ranch properties.

Definitely did not meet my expectations.

All three generations of our family loved our time here. 

Chase and his team made us feel so welcome with yummy meals and everything we needed. 

Robin and Lilly do an amazing job at the stables and we loved the rides and just hanging out with the beautiful horses.  
The ride to the campfire was a big treat and a lovely way to spend the day. 

We also loved our meals in the dining room
and getting to know the other guests. 

This is like a step back in time with no TV and limited internet. Lots of time to slow down and enjoy. 

The rooms were clean and comfy and full of history. 

Highly recommend if you are looking for an authentic experience filled with history hosted by wonderful people!

The Real Deal

5 of us cowgals went to this intimate group weekend together, hosted by western singer Belinda Gail. Created great memories with friends new and old, many of the ladies were repeat visitors. Excellent riding program, fast loping rides or slow rides were both available twice a day. Wranglers were absolutely the best and so were the horses. Meals were delicious, accommodations in the 1920s era ranch great, and Belinda’s itinerary packed with special activities (and a concert too!) were thoughtful and fun. The location is remote: if you want to get away from it all, have a great time and wrap yourself in Arizona ranch life with no distractions, this is the place for you!

True Cowgirl Getaway Weekend

A wonderful ranch. Totally peaceful setting. Great staff and food was delicious.  Horseback ride to beautiful scenery. Loved out themed "John Wayne" suite. A very laid backed ranch for anyone looking to totally unwind.  Great cantina and beautiful sitting areas.  Just all around wonderful stay!!

From previous reviews I had expected to have more activities and better food. Signing up for the activities is limited as it is done a day before and you may not get what you want for that day such as shooting or the ATV ride. there are quite a few hours during the day to relax and enjoy the pool or just read. However, my daughter and I found it rather boring.
Most of the people at the ranch who interact with guest have been there four months or less.
most of those leading the activities, know nothing about the wildlife and birds of the area. One even identified a deer track as a cow.
The food is pedestrian. The ambience of the historic ranch is certainly very interesting and the rooms are quite acceptable.
Based on the staff and the food and level of activities, I am not sure that I would choose another ranch associated with this group.
seeing the wall with the Mexican border and talking to staff about immigrant problems was interesting.

Took a father/son road trip across the American southwest.  Two Canadians, eh, checking out the air museum in Palm Springs, Rancho De La Osa in New Mexico, the artistry of Marfa, Texas, and city life in Austin.

So about the ranch.  Yes, you can smell the history of this place in the dusty winds and something lives on here in serendipitous ways. 

Host Bob welcomed us with genuine country charm and, over the days and shared-meals ahead, we came to seek some points of view.  Think you have a problem?  Poke quiet Bob for some pearls of wisdom - from experience flying helicopters in Vietnam to running ranches across the West - and you learn more about the world and how to treat people in one sentence. 

The guests from across the USA and abroad were equally fascinating - exchanging interests across the big meal table or around a bonfire.  The conversations were personal, respectful, authentic.  And when no one spoke for a time, there was a crackling fire.  Even the shared silence was good. 

Yes - there was riding, shooting, ATV'ing, etc (with a wonderful staff that kept everyone safe) but the "experience" was deeper.  

If you can share a little and listen a lot there is much to learn from the land and fellow dudes at Rancho De La Osa.

Weathered and Wise

We had a wonderful time. It rained the day we arrived- which was a blessing as the trails were not dusty the whole week. We had a good size lunch when we got there. But all we were offered foreigner was a soup-it was excellent. but not a huge bowl. We all expected it wasn't the main course but it was! They did give us dessert that night-and every night which was good. Seemed like they just needed to up their game a little. The mat in our bathrooms so ragged it looked like a rag. There was a popcorn machine- the last night we said something- they said just make it. I asked them to. No popcorn. We were supposed to 'do cows' Very pleasant    but though they said yes,  it never happened. Very pleasant people, accomodating but didn't follow through. New manager. There was dog manure on the walkway to the restaurant. Was there several hours in the morning. Finally I had to tell the manager. Dog  manure (can't use 'profanity') by the pool that we didn't complain about and they never cleared it up while we were there. The dogs were very friendly though. The day after the rain the horses were muddy- unusual I think. So pretty unorganized about getting them ready. Groomed saddle are only. There was still mud on their faces and other body parts 3 days later. No library, The first horse I had would take off if asked to go past  a walk. So I tried him in. Second horse was SUPER. One of the best horses I've had (been to lots of ranches), Our room was not the largest but good. Almost all had front porches. We also had a patio. We were on the end. Very quiet. No evening entertainment

I would go back

There are hardly words to explain how special our stay was here. The staff, Carleigh, Bob and Chase went above and beyond to make us feel appreciated and welcomed. 
The wranglers were fun and made our rides so fantastic. We had the best time and booked our return trip immediately 

A beautiful vacation

We just spent 3 glorious days at Rancho de la Osa. When I say that this was one of the best vacation experiences we have ever had and we travel I sincerely mean it
From beginning  I to end it was Perfect.
Bob our host could not have been better. The man is a treasure. The staff without exception was superior. “Beer for my horses, Whiskey for my persons “
We laughed, learned, and relaxed.
Our room was the Eleanor Roosevelt suite and it was marvelous. It was spacious comfortable with front and back patios .the interior was beautifully Southwestern  right down to the vintage Native Indian Blankets on the walls ( Navajo I believe )
Don’t get me started on the meals, they were so good unexpected hats off to the Chiefs and staff. 
The staff and management were so accommodating and friendly. They made you feel at home and not like a duck out of water.
The activities were suitable for all no matter your abilities, skills or lack of.
My dreams and fantasies of being of Oakley Were dashed but I had so much fun, the horses were wonderful and pick to suit our sizes and skill sets.
