The hostel was clean and the staff were friendly. We had a private room that offered many amenities most hostels don’t such as a TV, fridge and sink in the room. The bathrooms and showers were also private stalls which was nice. It is a bit hard to find as it is above a taco shop so we did have to look around for the door but all good once found. It also has a security lock as well. One block from the boardwalk/beach and there is a big free parking lot down the street if you can’t find street parking. I would definitely stay here again.

I ended up staying here for 2 weeks and was so sad to leave! Bruno, Jules, Nikki, Dani & Max… just EVERY ONE *chef’s kiss*

Cleanest hostel yet!!!

Older property, with new decor. Two small flights of stair to rooms (was offered help with luggage but didn’t get it). Tiny lobby, busy street, hard to find parking during daytime. My room smelled like a cat litter box. Very strong. No a/c very hot, only window to noisy street. Good for people who are used to hostels, was a bit too tough for me. Seemed different in photos. Decent enough though, no major complaints.

Location was perfect! You can easily reach the beach and bus station in a minute or less. Entrance to the hostel is permited only to the hostel Guests. Bruno was were polite. It was very clean, all areas. Def coming again here!

We had a great stay!! The staff were all awesome. Extra shout out to Jessie who checked us in, made us feel welcome, and provided us with cool recommendations. My only complaint is that the street noise is really loud at night. Luckily they provided us w ear plugs to help with that. Overall, it was the perfect place to stay and we wish we could've stayed longer. The location was great, literally steps from the beach, Belmont Park (kind of like the Coney Island of San Diego), and a bus stop. It was nice to feel like the rest of the city was accessible while also getting the best of staying on the beach. 10/10!

Great First Time in San Diego

Close to the beach and transportation.  Hostel was managed well for safety and quiet hours.  Nice area.

I loved my stay! The staff and other guests were all friendly. I missed out on the events hosted by the hostel - but they do a beach bonfire on Saturdays that sounded really nice. Very convenient location to downtown, Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach, and La Jolla. I did get a rental car, but there is free street parking in the area (just have to pay attention to signage). My room was very comfortable and I really loved the feel of the place. Highly recommend and would stay here again.

Loved it!

Overall our stay was ok. We had one big issue - we saw someone who was not a guest come in the hostel and use the showers/kitchen and leave suspiciously (he ran out of the shower without his shoes on to put them on outside). At first we called the other hostel location (since it was before 8am) and they lied to us and said they would come right over because they were only 5 minutes away. We told one of the workers (aka volunteers) about the situation, and then told the manager who started working at 8. The guy came back the next day to use the fridge and the other manager saw him. The manager confronted him and he got very aggressive showing some email confirmation and yelling that he "had to go to work" even though it was Saturday. We overheard the workers talking about the guy and the fact that no one could identify him and they weren't sure where he was staying since there was no room/bed for him. We also saw him driving away with a dog in his car, so we really think he was not a paying customer at all. We feel this was not handled well, the least they could have done was change the code on the main door. This is upsetting because the hostel is not cheap and some random guy broke in and we had no idea what his intentions were. Obviously management only cares about the money, not the safety of their guests. We never got an update but I guess the guy never showed up again. Other than that, workers were nice and it was relatively clean.
