Hit with heavy cigarette smoke odor when in the lobby.  The glass doors are filthy. Rate was decent for our room.  Check in was efficient.

Room was clean though several things were be considered "being repair", like the missing tile under the face of the bathroom cabinet.  Yes they were doing work on the place.  However the abundance of hair in the tub was not the fault of the contractor.   Nice soft larger / new white towels and 1 small bar of soap, in a guest room that sleeps 4.  Go figure.  No pen, no paper.  The DISH TV gave us problems and the desk clerk sincerely tried (to no avail) to fix it.  Had to unplug the TV to turn it off.  Had to call the office for the Wi-Fi password.  Not sure why it can't be giving or offered on check in.  By the way if you do not have a cell phone, you will need to walk to the lobby because there is no phone in the room.  The air conditioner worked fine on automatic, but boy was there an unpleasant odor when it would kick in with the cold air.  Might want to check the unit for a dead body.  Construction folks at work the next morning and they were not a bother at all.  The people that were an issue were the ones lounging in the lobby and sitting on the stoop outside the front door.  They were on cell phones, smoking and/or using the free Wi-Fi.  They may have been waiting for rides to work or somewhere, I don't know.  The construction debris at the N end of the building has been there for quite some time and looks very unsightly.  When a police office drove through, you could see by his visual scan, that it wasn't his first time to cruise the place.

Management might have the lobby clerk wash the glass on the doors and make it more inviting.  Sweeping the lobby should be a daily ritual.  Pay your staff to work and not be on their electronics.

Management needs to have staff enforce the state law of no smoking within 25 feet of the building.  The tall cigarette disposal receptacle was so full the butts were sticking out the top.  It sits just to the side of the front door.

  Trash set outside a room should be dealt with ASAP.  The pizza boxes left outside a room around 5 pm were still there at 10 AM next

Unpleasant odor, no TV and loiterers.

We stayed here during the eclipse since everywhere else was full, and ultimately it was an okay stay. The guy at the front desk was friendly, and when the first room we were assigned to ended up smelling like smoke even though it was non-smoking, he was quick to relocate us. The room was no frills, bells, or whistles but was exactly what we needed- a clean place to sleep and rest for the night, and that's what we got. If you're on a budget and looking for a solid night's rest, this is it.

A-okay for a budget stay

This was undoubtedly the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.  I stayed there only because there were no rooms available elsewhere because of the eclipse.  The building should be demolished.  It's old, dirty and stinks. He the good news is that management gave me a refund for one night after paying for two.

Don't stay here unless you want holes in the wall, filthy carpeting, remodeling and hammering at 3 a.m.

We booked this hotel months in advance and received a confirmation email from Americas Best Value (ABV) Inn a couple days before our trip to watch the Solar Eclipse. We were very disappointed to find out they are no longer Americas Best Value Inn and the new ownership wouldn't take our reservation.  They told us that ABV should've taken them off their list.  We tried calling ABV corporate, but they were not answering the phone.  We had no choice, but take their offer of paying double and in cash only for the last room.  The room wasn't even cleaned and smelled like smoke in a non smoking room.  We came back the carpet was dirty, bathroom with plenty of cracks and found some creepy crawly the next morning. 
To add to more misery, I sent an email to ABV corporate and my response was
"Unfortunately, this property is no longer part of our brand, so we are not able to help you."


SHAME ON YOU, AMERICAS BEST AND RED LION CORP!

Never stay here. The room itself was not as bad as we thought- rundown and old, but about what you expect for the price. The manager was a rude jerk and the owner he spoke to on the phone was not much better. We had to wait an hour for a room to be cleaned only to be told that even though we made a reservation online with the America's Best number and had printed reservations they did not have it in the computer and would not honor ours. Both the manager and owner said they were independently owned and could do what they wanted. The rep at the Americas Best number said the reservation was in their computer and the property should honor it. The property was not even aware that their name and chain is now owned by Red Lion. The younger guy who took over when the manager left was nice and helpful but could not do much due to what the manager and owner told him to do. He did get us a room for the night (since we had to be somewhere and it was too late to change). We left the next day and stayed at a nice Super 8 down the road.
