Stayed with a familie of 4 for two nights on a recent ski trip to Pico and Killington. We got a clean room, no problems with late check-in and quick wifi. Sure - some of the furniture is a bit outdated but you get what you pay for. We slept well and I rather invest the saved money in one more day skiing. We also stayed in some of the other budget motel options in Rutland previously and Highlander was by far the best experience.

Ok for the price

My fiancé and I stayed here for a couple of days skiing holiday in Killington.
It is cheap and one cannot expect too much.
Sid, the new owner had only taken over two weeks prior to us arriving. He checked us into a room that smelled quite bad but he was kind enough to give us a choice of 2 other rooms. We pìcked the one that did not smell and where the heating was working. Unfortunately the shower was dripping all night but once the bathroom door was closed, the noise was not too bad. The TV kept freezing and internet connection was bad but that is just a minor disadvantage.
I was a bit disappointed that our room was not made up on the first day and Sid´s excuse "You arrived so late last night that we did not think we had to make up your room" was not a great excuse. 
I was also a bit disappointed that no breakfast was served when it said that a basic breakfast would be available....Sid´s excuse: " We have only been here for two weeks and need to get organized" is simply not good enough. Nobody really cares that you only just took over the motel. You advertise that breakfast is included and so it should be. I am easy-going but I want to mention that it is a place with a lot of potential. Sid just needs to get a hang of it.
I liked the guy and his wife and wish them well but I would like to point out that it is important that they are on top of the newly purchased business!
The motel needs a bit of a "revamp" and I would like to point out that when someone checks out in the morning and hand in the keys and lets you know the "little issues" that you at least acknowledge it...A "good morning" would be nice. I know you only just purchased the place and took over but please be professional: when a guest comes to reception to talk to you, be available. If you are greeted with a ·good morning", please say ·good morning"....You cannot show up in your pj´s and just rub your eyes and say nothing....
I liked you and your wife and I even liked the place but you need to be on top of things Sid!
It is the hospitality industry,..I wish you luck and recommend that you really look after this place. It has so much potential! Make sure you offer at least a coffee to your guests and that you revise rooms and bathrooms and fix little issues such as dripping shower.

All in all it was an ok experience staying at your motel but it could be a very good experience given that you look after it and offer guests  the basics.

Even at $60 and a comfortable bed, I would not recommend this motel. It is not clean and the flooring badly needs replacement. The bathroom floor was discusting. Everything needs to be updated. The light fixtures are old and do not provide good lighting. Even the plumbing in the shower did not work well and the space between the toilet and the shower is ridiculously small. Also bring you ear plugs as highway 7 trafic is constant and loud. Even the parking lot is very rough.

Arrived on a July afternoon... saw the room , outdated but ok.. till we got into the room .. sign on outside of door said non-smoking maybe like a week ago .. room stank like old cigarette smoke .. blinds and A/C were tar browned from it ... oh A/C blows warm air on a nice 85 degree July day ... and the door to the room leaves a nice big gap from the outside .... also not to mention the window above your head had a rotting from and lots of mold ... we were given a Fan oh and $20 off the second night thanks to the guilt trip from my Boyfriend ... all other rooms were filled " .. two rooms beside our looks like people were living there and bags of what appeared to be trash about 6 bags stacked high .. all though bathroom is all be done over .. exposed shower pipes might be not so good for small children ... 2 out of 4 windows had screens .. didn't keep my windows open .. didn't feel to safe ... I will never suggest to anyone that they stay there !!!! Refer to Pictures 


One of the Worst Places

It was disgusting! It looked nothing like he pictures. It had bad stains on he mattress and it smelled! I walked in and then abruptly left. I am not a fussy person but this was ridiculous. I did nota have the opportunity to judge the comfort of the furniture, because I would never sleep there.
