Hotel Burgess

We stayed there for a wedding close by and loved the old hotel. The king bed was very comfortable and it's a quiet area. Check in was easy and staff very nice. I would stay here again.

The hotel and room were really great.  Loved the architecture and room.  Everything in the room was nice. Bed super comfy.

Stayed one night.  Beautiful downtown building that was original.  Hardwood floors that creaked and lots of old building charm.  My wife kept saying it was haunted because it was older and seemed like a hotel from a movie.  I would totally stay again.

Hotel Burgess is an updated historic hotel in the heart of downtown Reedley. The hotel has no elevator and all rooms are on the 2nd floor.  We loved staying in this nice hotel.

We stayed here for one night and absolutely loved the charm of the old building. The host recommended a pub just around the corner, and it was fantastic! The craft drinks were delightful. We highly recommend staying here

Good good good, the only thing was that the shower head wasn’t too great a better shower head that releases more water. Other than that 10/10

This historic hotel is just off "G" street, Reedley's main street, which during the 50's and 60's was the most direct path from the high school to my home.  The nearby barbershop is still open and covered with memorabilia, including the vaulting pole used by my teacher, barber, and friend, Don Goosen.  Parents of six classmates had careers headquartered on "G" street.  The hotel preserves the atmosphere of those memorable years.

The hotel is historic, which is cool and the location in downtown Reedley is nice. They don’t man the front desk so you have to call to make sure someone will be at the front desk to check you in and give you your room key. The rooms need some updating and house keeping needs to do a better job with the linens. Some towels looked soiled. My husband also killed a roach in the bath tub. The air-conditioner worked, thank goodness it was 105 degrees. The mini fridge came in handy.

Good and not so good.

Small hotel, with quaint and elegant decor. If you enjoy historical types of hotels this one’s perfect. And the staff are very friendly. Very clean despite the age of the building. Very well kept place. If you have a problem with stairs there is a staircase up to the rooms that isn’t wonderful for weak knees. But it has charm to say the least.

My stay at the Hotel Burgess was a pleasent one. Actually for me a perfect one. Visiting the area I was looking for a simple old school hotel. Burgess fit it to a tee. Built in early 20th century the Hotel was no frills affair. Checking in as easy. The room, I had a single, was clean and the bed as very comfortable. The whole place had been remodeled to its former elegance. It's located in the heart of Reedley, close to some wonderful restaurants, especially breakfast. There is a great dance club nearby. Over Hotel Burgess was a great stay and I'd go back again.

Confortable bedding, very good remote-controlled AC, and a true gem for a hotel in the US: a hand held multi jets showerhead to be able to properly clean oneself after a day of hiking in Yosemite!The issue with the room we got was the light wells in the room which couldn’t be obstructed to keep the room pitch black in the morning. Needs some occulting curtains.

Good simple hotel with real shower heads!

I was shocked on arrival thar this had been the go-to hotel for the Korean resistance against Japanese colonization a century ago, and that much of the money to fund the provisional government in exile in Shanghai had been raised there. The hotel is immaculately maintained in its historic form although the rooms themselves need a bit of work. But comfortable and staff were friendly.

Deep in History

This was a surprising pick when I needed a hotel room for a weding. I was surprised to find a newer amenities in such a historic hotel. The Hotel manager was super accomodating and very friendly. The hotel wifi was a consistently strong signal which I needed for work. The entire time I felt safe as there were security cameras everywhere on the property. If I ever am visiting the area again I will be certain to stay here again.

A cute boutique hotel

Stunning historic turn-of-the century hotel in the heart of Reedley.  Interesting notable Korean personalities tied to Hotel Burgess.  Rooms are clean & cozy.  Amenities inconsistent -- towels tho no washcloth, additional outlet in light fixture tho it didn't work, 'free' street parking, shower water was tepid at 1am!  As Wendy, the friendly gracious owner noted, it's an experience.  It was mostly good, tho a couple details could make it better.

Unique historic stay

Beautiful antique hotel. Friendly staff. Beautiful wooden orginal stairs. All rooms are upstairs. Sad that theres no elevators, especially for those dealing with knee problems, like myself. Then heard many complaints about not enough water pressure from shower heads. Middle part of handrails on stairs was very loose. But owner said that will be fix. But other than that, its a nice place to stay in.

Staff was friendly and it was overall a nice stay. A few issues to note: the room was small and we could hear all the street noise, possibly due to the AC unit mounted on the window. Also, the hot water would take a few minutes to arrive after opening the faucet.On the other hand, hotel itself was clean and quiet, WiFi signal was good.
