We had been to Port A many times, but we never had the coastal experience quite like we did at The Dunes. Top of our list was the incredible view of sunrises, the gulf, the beach, pelican flying by and ships passing in the channel. We found ourselves spending lots of time on the balcony enjoying both the view and the sound of the waves nearby. We are beach walkers so we really liked that the building is right on the beach. We used that for frequent walks to the jetties to watch ships pass just a few feet away and talk with fishermen to see what they caught. Being in town was nice because we could drive to restaurants and activities in 5 or so minutes without getting out on the highway. The unit we stayed in was remodeled after the hurricane so it was really nice. The staff was very friendly, and that added to the visit. It was the best stay we ever had in Port A, and we will 1000% return.
