the room was very cold, especially the bathroom. The floor was freezing. No coffee or breakfast available. Had to go next door to restaurant. No amenities. No pool, no anything extra. The price was way too high for what you get. Very dark. Had stayed there 2 yrs ago and definitely had gone down hill.

We were traveling from southern AZ and wanted to get off the highway. We wanted a motel and this place was great. Right off the main road, but still quiet. Very clean and the beds were comfortable. One bed was right next to the A/C which was not the greatest and the curtain was blowing.

Quick stop on the why to the Grand Canyon

Ok, so there are exactly zero destination stays in Payson. Anyway, instead of Motel 6 or Quality Inn and the 4 other pooh corporate motels in town I decided on the Rim Country Inn to support small businesses. It's conveniently located with decent parking. Price was fair. 

So here's the gist. SUPER CLEAN! Nice couple run the property. Good cable TV, cold A/C and cold mini fridge and a microwave. Rooms are small but why do I need a huge room for a 1 night stay? Generous big 40 inch TV. Flooring is a nice laminate. Bed is a bit firm. Wifi was decent. No free crap powdered egg breakfast. 

So, if you're here I'd recommend Rim Country inn! It's an old school throw back and the people are nice. They also offer smoking 🚬  rooms which is weird, didn't know they still existed. Mine was non and absolutely no smoke smell. 

Stay here. You won't regret it. 

Nice and CLEAN room. You won't regret.

Basic room. Clean. Had a microwave and a fridge with a freezer. Bathroom has a shower only, no tub, and the sink is out in the main room. Everything worked, check in was easy, and while we stayed during COVID they didn't service the room, but asked if we needed anything when we saw them servicing other rooms. The TV is pretty huge with lots of channels. No desk in the room, but two chairs in our two-queen bed room.  I would totally stay here again, considering that it had the best price for the weekend I went.  The parking lot is small and if you have a trailer I don't know what you'd do.

We were coming home from our vacation in Northern AZ and needed a place to stop for the night before riding back into the hell hole that is Phoenix, AZ in the Summer.  It just happened to be the Saturday of the Memorial Day Weekend.
Finding a decent room in Payson, AZ on that date was daunting, especially because most motels required at least a 2 day minimum stay.
We tried a few places and decided that they were either too expensive, or required 2 nights.  Luckily, we found the Rim Country Inn.
Bina at the front desk was sweet and accommodating.  She quoted us $120 a night (which is high for the room - but it was considered a holiday).
The room (#41) was immaculate.  It had a king sized bed, clean, fresh pillows and linens and appeared to be remodeled recently.  There is a small efficiency kitchen consisting of a single cup coffee maker, a microwave and a small fridge.  The sink is in the sleeping area (next to the fridge- and has a small leak around the cold water handle) and the bathroom is a stand up shower (very clean) and a toilet.  The TV leaves a little to be desired due to it being stuffed into a small entertainment center.  The sound volume is very muffled.  There are room darkener curtains which match the bedspread and check out time is 11 am - though we didn't stay that long.  There is 1 parking space for each room and the parking lot is level and sand/gravel free (a plus for those of us who ride motorcycles).  I cannot stress how impressed I was with the cleanliness of this place - and the fact that the pillows actually smelled clean!  What a treat.
Overall, I loved this place and didn't give it a "5" rating only because of the high price due to the holiday.  Thanks Bina for a wonderful stay.  We will be back.

Rim Country Inn on Memorial Day Weekend  2020

Would never stay here again! Just wanted a place to sleep & there was loud banging going on all night! Kept getting up to check our car to see if being broken into. Was a clean room, but smelled of cleaning products.

Room 38

Wife and I stayed for one night while visiting the Rim country.  Room was clean, bed was comfortable, front desk very friendly. next door to the Bee Line diner and across the street from Chili's.  Can park directly out your front door.  Small, quaint, nothing fancy, but if you like the small older motel settings, the Rim Country Inn is the place to stay while in Payson.  Great location at a great price.  Will definitely stay there again.

Great little motel at an affordable price

Small, simple but clean, straight and the only street, no breakfast, no pool, short and crisp, good for a night on the road, but no more.
