The Russian mule was a very nice bar restaurant brewery. The accommodations were very comfortable. Everything was neat, clean and utterly

Simple, cozy accommodations in close proximity to a couple nice trailheads (Denning, Slide Mountain.) The complex was closed up for winter the weekend I stayed, but a special thank you to the manager who was kind enough to drive over after hours and open up a room for a friend I'd been out hiking with on an adventure that lasted much later than we'd expected. We appreciate the kindness and hospitality more than you can imagine.

Wonderful experience.  The brewery/restaurant on site had stellar service and delicious food!  The room was standard.  All that we were looking for.  We will return again.

The hotel landscape is beautiful. Scenic views all around the hotel and brewery of the Catskills. The manager and staff at the Russian Mule are very friendly and courteous. Great service as well.

I drove from NH for an engagement and the owner went out of her way to help me get my phone charged to make it home. I’ll plan on going back!

Quiet, restful spot. Property just down the road from Red Hill trailhead for those interested in firetower challenge.  Visited late Sept midweek when adjoining Russian Mule Brewery & Restaurant was closed. Ate dinner & breakfast at Neversink General store about 10 minutes away ... and enjoyed it.

The Blue Hills Lodge was much more than a place to stay for a few days.  They had there own Post Office, Beauty Salon, Museum, Restaurant, Event Center, Live Entertainment, Microbrewery (Russian Mule Brewery), Beer Tasting, wonderful grounds, could I add more.  I met the owner and staff.  Everyone treated me and my small 9 pound dog as a cherish member of the family. rather then a stranger and a guest. It really felt like a home with special extras.  The only thing that it lacked was a microwave.  This was more that a 5 star place of lodging.  Thank you so very must to the staff of the Blue Hills Lodge and the Russian Mule Brewery.

Everything went smoothly.  Be aware that after hours checkin is handled by the room being left unlocked and the key inside (not the safest way to handle it, but it's very rural and we just thoroughly checked the room).Room was clean and quiet.  No one else seemed to be staying on the property (we were there off season).  Only complaints would be that we had only 1 roll of toilet paper in the room, the wifi was not very reliable or easy to connect to, and the head board was pretty wobbly and knocked the wall with the tiniest movement (we put towels behind it so my son could sleep).  Clean. affordable place to crash before we headed up the Red Hill Fire tower trail.  Thanks!

I am a repeat guest and cannot say enough great things about Blue Hill.  The staff are excellent and have been extremely flexible with reservations. I travel from out of state on business and have had to reschedule a few times due to inclement weather and the lodge staff has always been kind and accomodating.  I can always count on a safe and clean environment.  Thank you!

Had a quiet, lovely stay at this perfectly manicured property. Our room was very clean and cottage-like. The furnishings were country inspired. The bathroom gleemed! There is a restaurant on site but we came in the off season so it was, unfortunately closed. Would love to return during the summer to experience it as the reviews are high. Overall this was one of our best stays at any hotel/motel in years! Kudos to the owners for checking all the right boxes!

My husband and I stayed at Blue Hill as a base for attending a wedding in Woodridge . The room was clean, and there was a bar fridge, which I wish had been itemized in the hotel listing. This is a great feature when you know about it in advance.We had dinner at the Russian Mule Restaurant on the first night and were very happy with the tasty veggie burgers.The staff was very friendly.

The lodge house was lovely and very comfortable. My only comment is that the description should be changed to remove that it’s air conditioned, because it’s not. Additionally, a number of the windows don’t have screens and some of the blinds are broken, so it’s not easy to get good airflow. We managed fine because it was cool and comfortable, but I can’t imagine how the lodge must be when it’s hot and humid outside.

Boutique, 7-room hotel in a beautiful setting with unique facilities.   Comfortable rooms with firm bed and recently renovated  bathroom.  The small art gallery in the stunningly renovated barn, brewery and outstanding Russian food in the restaurant a few steps away are not to be missed.  There is a separate beautiful wedding/event space as well.

Excellent retreat

Savannah was great! She moved us to a bigger room when we found that there was a gap at the bottom of the door and I wasn't comfortable with that. It's a cute little area. Needs a store on site for ice, drinks and snacks since there's nothing around for 20 to 30 mins. A microwave in the room would be great!

Beautiful facilities and clean room! Be advised that the restaurant is closed Monday through Thursday. The website states this, but it is not obvious. this is noteworthy, because there are no other dining options in Claryville. If you’re there for the weekend, you will have wonderful lodging as well as a restaurant available.
