Deer Creek Motel

While on my first US road trip, NYC to Indianapolis, we stopped in this little gem. Six road weary travellers descended upon the Deer Creek having seen its sign from the Freeway. 

Hands down one of the best experiences of my life (accommodation wise). Years spent imagining what an actual motel was like in America were satisfied. The staff couldn't have been nicer, the amenities were excellent and we made some life long friends in fellow lodgers. 

If you are passing by and looking for a place to stay, ignore the flashy lights of the hotels nearby, look for this quaint, deep fried slice of Americana.

An older motel going under renovations. The rooms are spotless,comfortable beds, plenty of pillows, large flat screen TV, and extremely fast check-in. It is within walking distance of a great variety of fast food or sit down restaurants.

We stayed here for two nights on our 2019 Big Road Trip. We normally don't reserve in advance, but we knew we'd be in Cambridge for multiple nights and the online rate was very attractive. Although it's an older property and the pool looks to be near-permanently out of service, the room was very comfortable, with softer beds than the usual too-firm ones you find in other motels. It's a short walk to many restaurants and services, or you can just sit outside and watch the bunnies play in the green grass. The staff was excellent, and we saw them upgrading the rooms while we stayed there. And don't forget to say "hi" to Mo the polydactyl kittycat in the office.

Chose to stay here because of the rate and was definitely not disappointed. Very big king room, clean and comfortable. It's hidden behind the Sleep Inn and the Comfort Inn (I think that was it) so you have to watch for the signs to find it behind KFC.

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 🌟 is the fridge was unplugged and the AC was off when we got in the room and on a hot day, it was a long wait for the room to cool down. Also we are traveling with medication that needs refrigerated so it stayed in the cooler all night. Otherwise, it's a very good place to stay.

All rooms are im different buildings on one floor and the non-smoking room actually smelled smoke free!

Spotless!

So out of town I work wanted to stop and get some sleep and find a cheap place it was relatively cheap but it should be a lot cheaper. Get to the room after finding out there is no refunds there is roach powder everywhere on the back of the beds all around the rooms . Floorboards coming off room disgustingly dirty and absolute nightmare. Beds are dirty pillows are horrible bedding is old and torn bathroom is beyond repair stuff spilled everywhere on tables and end tables the absolute worst place I've ever stayed in my life. Even  the remote control is disgustingly dirty!!!!

What a literal dump. Don’t let the newly paved parking lot fool you.  The housekeepers in this dump are terrible. The only “cleaning” was a towel change & garbage emptied. I had to request for them to sweep. When I made reservations at this place I was told the only room available was a double. I said fine. A few hours later Missy or Misty called me back and says a King room has become available & I can check in anytime. Upon check in I was told no king rooms were available. The guy (I think his name was Kyle) starts complaining about the lack of communication with another employee. Very unprofessional. After given the key to the room, I went through the room. It was disgusting. See Pictures. I went to the front desk several times during my stay to let them know the housekeepers need to do better. I asked to speak to the manager & was told “she might be in tomorrow morning.” Then someone from behind the wall loudly says “give her a form for a refund.” No other options, just a refund. The refund process is fill out a form, it gets sent to the owners I presume, and if approved a check will be sent in the mail. That didn’t help my situation so I stayed. Had the refund process been easier, as I paid with cash, I would’ve been outta there. The one positive here is no bugs in the room.

Dirty. Dirty. Dirty!!!!

I cant even explain how disgusting this place is. Horrific smell..dirty sheets..filthy carpet..moldy shower..pissy toilet with broken seat. Loud a/c. The little man who checked us in was just as nasty as the room..dirty smelly and rude. Refused any type of refund and wouldn't even move us to another room. Advertising american owned doesn't give a pass on cleanliness or hospitality.  It's amazing this place is still open with the level of disgusting.  Low price doesn't have to include filth and bugs. My husband and I will sleep in our car before going back here.

Nasty nasty nasty

This place is the worst place I've ever visited!! If you can get past the smell I'm sure the bugs will get you!! You name it they have it!! Bedbugs, roaches , flea's ect.and I'm pretty sure if you look hard enough you will find your own brand new species of bugs or rodents!! I was there 5 minutes before I brought all this including pictures to the "manager" Kelly. I say that only because she calls herself that not that she earned that title. She was to busy defending the bugs to help me. Made it perfectly clear that there would not be any refunds what so ever. I eventually just walked out drove across the street paid 5 more dollars for a clean friendly much better room!! Please take my advice and skip Deer Creek motel completely!! More like sh#$ Creek or deer flea motel!!

Booked for a two night stay and when checking in paid on my debit carad.  The room was filthy and smelled so badly of mold that after half the nighht we got up and slept in our car.  Spent the next night at another hotel up the road.  They would not give us our money back!  They keep advertising they are 'American Owned' --- wish they'd quit that because though it's great to be an American, this hotel is the worst representtion.

Stayed in a room with two double beds with the coils sticking through no matter which position you tried laying in. The odor in the room was horrific. We were afraid to take our shoes off because the carpet was so filthy. The linens looked clean but had some kind of chemical or soap which irritated my skin. Spent the next day being very tired after this nightmare of very little sleep.
