We loved our stay. The inn is beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated. The ambiance is peaceful and harmonious. Our host and all the staff are so kind and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious and definitely instagram-worthy for folks who are into such things.

We loved The Blue Shutters Inn! Susan greeted us and was so welcoming! We enjoyed chatting with her over the 4 days we stayed…friendly and fun! The new owners, Gerard and Annie, are lovely hosts who know how to take care of their guests. We loved the Kittery room but we caught a glimpse of the other rooms, and  it seems like you can’t go wrong. The outdoor spaces are very well maintained and beautiful. The breakfast each morning was next level!! They accommodate all dietary preferences and…just stay here! We cannot wait to return.

Hospitality was off the charts. 

This is what an INN experience is all about. The breakfast was divine!!!!

Highly recommend this fabulous place. My husband and friends went last year and visited this past week.  Susan greeted us as we checked in and was very welcoming and offered us much needed coffee. Gerald is the new owner who was personable and takes great pride in his and wives new  ownership of business. Location  is a quick walk to Marginal Way. Breakfast as always was phenomenal. Room was spacious and comfortable. Like last year we met such nice folks around comfortable fire pit . We’re already discussing plans to revisit next year.

The Blue Shutters Inn was perfect! The rooms are comfortable and well thought out. Lots of space and the balcony is a perfect spot to chat with morning coffee. This place is a chance to escape and feel special. The staff’s attention to detail and effort to help is beyond compare. You can’t leave without feeling great!

What could I possibly say that hasn't already been said?  My husband booked a weekend stay for my 50th.  When we arrived Laurence and Glenn greeted us warmly and we quickly had a glass of champagne in hand in front of their outdoor gas fire.  As it was my birthday my husband had ordered one of the packages that was waiting for us in the room and in addition, Glenn and Laurence gifted a little birthday cake that was also waiting for us.  The food was Devine, the hosting was amazing as was all the staff.  Upon arrival we felt greeted as if we were long lost friends and by our departure we felt at home and as if we were part of a family of sorts.  Their ease in hosting provided a warm friendly environment for all who stayed and mingling each morning and evening for Breakfast and Happy hour with the other guests was a great way to meet other people.  You take out the amazing town amd all it has to offer.... I'd still go back again; just to see Glen,Laurence and the staff, and let's not forget Bentley, dog host extraordinaire.   We will be back. 

Absolutely delightful stay.  Our room on the top floor of the inn was lovely, with fresh baked goodies every day, pocket ocean view, and the sound of the ocean at night.  The owners, Laurence and Glen, are terrific and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and meet other guests, either at the happy hour (great cocktails) or at breakfast.  The rest of the staff is great as well, as is Bentley, the house dog.  Wished we could have stayed longer!

The cutest place to stay! From my first call to Glen to the last farewell with Laurence, the overnight stay was amazing! The property is really well done, Coastal Chic meets a preppy vibe at the Blue Shutters Inn and Studios. We stayed in the  Studios (the Sister Property Trellis House and Blue Shutters were already booked OF COURSE) but we were not disappointed. The Studios are just what you need for a stay. There wasn't a thing that was missed, down to the heated mirror in the bathroom (so it doesn't fog when you are showering and your spouse is trying to shave). The room was done just so well with the most AMAZING bed and linens.  Did I mention it was spotless?
We did a quick hop next door to Trellis House for Happy Hour. Well, well. Where to even start with this. Glen and Laurence OUTDID themselves with this little gem of a place. Trellis House belongs in a copy of a very popular read we all get monthly that highlights all the decor we'd love to pull off. These two did just that. Check out Trellis House for a stay as well...
Back to Happy Hour. It was just like being at your friend's for a quick little pre-dinner gathering. The fire was going, lite snacks and a bar that Laurence  maintains... with mixology skills of a pro! 
Happy Hour was a chance to meet all the other guests (and EVERYONE came) and mingle, meet and chat, and realize that we were the ONLY ones that had NOT been to the property before. Every couple had been to see Glen and Laurence (and their star of the show BENTLEY... cutest pup who has the skills to run the cocktail party like his parents.... ) 
This was nothing short of perfection... have to mention the BREAKFAST... wow!  Everyone sort of meanders in to breakfast around 8:30-8:45 and has coffee and the most delicious yummy tastings to start your day.... of course, you can sleep a little later... but to miss this would be crazy. They are happy to accommodate you until around 9:30.... 
OH, of course the town is cute, little shops, nothing crazy, but the big draw is the Marginal Ways (check this out on line)... that is a beautiful path that runs along the ocean (paved and easy to navigate... jump on our off ...) that is spectacular.... and have dinner at MC Perkins in Perkins Cove... walk the Marginal Way there and then take the well lit sidewalk back).
So much more to write about this quick get away... but I would hate to spoil some of the amazing little touches and wonders you will experience!

From start to finish this bed and breakfast is extraordinary! The owners, Laurence and Glen, do an impeccable job of making sure that you feel right at home. The accommodations are beautifully decorated and the grounds are beautiful.
The breakfast is outstanding! This is our happy place and have already booked for next year. Highly recommended!

Best B&B and outstanding service!

I surprised my wife by booking a stay at Blue Shutters Inn for our 10th wedding anniversary. Everything was great! Glen and Laurence were welcoming and the food was amazing. We enjoyed the snacks in our room, the various options at Cocktail hours, and breakfast. We parked our car when we arrived Friday and didn't move it until we left Sunday morning. It was a relaxing couple of nights and a great spot! We hope to get back there again in the future! 

Great Anniversary trip!

Wow! What a nice place with nice people. 🙂 When you arrive, you are greeted as an honored guest by Laurence, Glen, Bentley (poodle host extraordinaire) and the rest of the staff.

In addition to the friendly greeting and tour, complete with bubbles and blueberries, every day there's an opportunity to mix and mingle during happy hour and make new friends. The staff are excellent social facilitators, putting folks at ease, mixing creative cocktails, and there are many return guests, greeted as family with hugs. There's an overwhelming sense of warmth and camaraderie which makes your stay more of an experience, where you end up with a feeling of belonging - a real home away from home. 

As for the Inn, it could not be more charming! The decor is beautifully updated and casually coastal. The shared spaces are very inviting and each room is a little oasis. Practically speaking, charming does not mean "rustic or outdated" as with some BnBs. Everything works! Everything is clean and updated. Bathrooms are attached. Yes, there's AC, but we also enjoyed keeping a window open at night to enjoy the crisp Maine evening breezes. 

Saving the best part for last... Let's talk about the breakfast offered here. Every morning we were awakened to wonderful smells wafting up to us, calling us down to start a pleasant, peaceful day. Bring your stretchy pants(!) because you won't be able to resist the 2-course extravaganzas composed by Laurence (sausage and lobster eggs benedict, pictured). I can't imagine you'd find a better, tastier breakfast anywhere... I can't imagine you'd find a better place to enjoy Ogunquit. 

Greeted as a friend... Left feeling like family

We could not recommend staying at the Blue Shutters Inn more! I am very particular about where I stay and was nervous to book based on just searching the internet. We booked the studio as it was the only room left open and it was everything we hoped for and more! Glen and Lawrence are so warm and welcoming. Di (from breakfast) glows and is somehow just as welcoming and nice as Glen and Lawrence. The food is AMAZING. The bed was so comfortable and it was maybe 2 minutes from the best walking path we’ve experienced in Maine! Thanks for the great stay.
