Southern Star Inn

Was close to Chowan University and we could  walk to places to eat.  Room was clean.  I know the hotel is a bit older but it appears some updates have been made.  Has a refrigerator and microwave in the rooms.

Very clean inside the room and around the property. The front desk has great customer service and very accommodating! I'm in town on business and haven't been disappointed!!!❤️

Perfect location for the Watermelon Festival! We walked everywhere. Very nice check in experience, very comfortable beds!

My experience was good. It was a little small and it is older but I was comfortable and had plenty of electrical outlets. The gentleman managing the motel was very nice and very helpful. This is no frills but worth the money.

The ownership of this hotel has made all the necessary changes to make this a very pleasant place to stay. I slept well, watched great tv, and had an awesome shower.

My Stay

Excellent location that let us visit the campus and walk around the town. It saved us from doing a lot of extra driving!

Very friendly gentleman at the front desk. It's a rather old motel, but quiet and conveniently located.

Given there’s no much option to stay in the area,  this place is a good one to stay. The rooms were clean.

First let me say the Staff was Friendly and helpful.If you are expecting a Hotel that leaves you "Mints on the Pillow"   this is not the Hotel for you.  It is the most basic hotel on the planet. It is a room, with Air-conditioning and heat, one towel, two washcloths, and a roll of toilet paper. The bed was a bed, clean sheets, but after a long day .... who cares. Parking was not the best. The parking lot was "Full" of heavy construction trucks and there equipment. The hotel was full of construction workers, who were polite. They even offered food from their grills which were in the parking lot. By 5 am the  parking lot was empty. If you  like music... all the better, you can hear the other guests music 2 rooms away.I got exactly what I paid for.
