Very clean the only complaints my husband and I had were the water pressure sucks and so do the pillows. We would definitely book here on our next visit

I had a great stay; the bed was comfy, shower felt nice, had a nice selection of lighting choices, a medium fridge 🤔 (like a minifridge with a separate freezer not a little door flap in the fridge), a microwave, nice updated furniture including a defogging mirror 😳 AND no bugs 😁 The couple that runs it is friendly and professional. I definitely plan on returning!Sorry, only pics I have are when I set up my bathroom stuff 😕

We were in town for a 3 night stay. The location is an older motel design that has been extremely well refurbished. The owner/operator was great. The hot water in the shower was strong and the bed comfortable. Absolutely loved the courtyard.

Our stay was grest. Clean, quiet and friendly staff.

This motel is adorable, clean, quiet, and comfortable.  I always seek out these old fashioned motels.  I love them.  The Bay Inn did NOT disappoint.   Friendly staff, comfy bed, awesome water pressure, cute courtyard, and safe area.   You will not be disappointed.  Great value.

The owners are great. Easy check in process. Rooms are newly remodeled and clean. Rates are very reasonable. Yes, I could have driven home but all of the above makes it worth staying.

01/2025I love the common area in the middle of the property! there are several round picnic tables that make me want to come back when it’s warmer to enjoy the sunshine that hits the location perfectly in the daytime. Also the rooms are very clean and modern which is a nice surprise compared to other hotels in the area. the bathroom was AMAZING for the price, I almost couldn’t believe my luck. I would LOVE to stay here again—the bed was so comfortable I slept like I do at home! Also to anyone curious about the surrounding area: it’s very nice and quiet. There are sit down dining options super close by, fast food, a diner, and a well stocked harris teeter for those just wanting snacks. the people who own this place are also very kind and have a wonderful property. Would definitely recommend staying here!!!

Staff was amazing. I called saying I would not be in until late. Their front desk is normally closed at that time. On the phone he told me when I got there to dial on the phone and someone would come up to the desk. Told them what time I would be there and he was at the desk waiting for me and chuckled I was 6 minutes early. Such geat service!

This might have been the cleanest hotel in which I've ever stayed! The hospitality of the staff in unparalleled. The bathroom was newly updated and the water was perfectly hot with excellent water pressure. Fast Wi-Fi and TV in room. It was so nice to have a working refrigerator and freezer, as well! Coffee maker in room that was well-stocked. Seriously couldn't ask for more, especially at such an excellent price in a perfect location!

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I noticed there wasn’t a mattress protector. But the room was spacious and cozy. The heating system was working ok it did keep the room warm. The shower did not provide hot water during the night, it may have been due to the cold temperature. Service was A+

Cozy Spot by the Beach

My stay was amazing. Honestly the best place I've stayed in a long time. Very clean. Good space and comfortable. I absolutely loved the water pressure because a lot of places, their water pressure is terrible. I truly enjoyed the 2 nights I stayed. If you need a place to just chill and relax, this is it. I will definitely be back. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Best Stay EVER!!!!

Loved The Bay. It’s across the street from the beach in a cute residential area with restaurants wihin walking distance. The folks running it are super friendly and we enjoyed meeting their dog. Although It’s an older motel, It’s completely renovated and well cared for. The bed was comfy and the room had a microwave and refrigerator with a small freezer. We plan to return next year for the same event.

The Bay Inn was just what I expected, very clean and comfortable, with the amenities I needed, such as a microwave and fridge. It was very clean and the little courtyard is charming. My only wish is for window shades that open from the top instead of side to side, so that I could have enjoyed the courtyard more easily from my room without having my curtains wide open. But I will definitely stay there again when I am visiting my family nearby.

Will definitely return.Quite, no bugs, no odd smells.I Go to Norfolk 2X per year for one week each.First place with daily housekeeping service in 4 years.Beautiful renovations to the room.The small details like a hand soap dispenser and ice tray made it cozy.Best shower water pressure ever.

Nice jewel in the neighborhood

Needed a low cost overnight stay while attending the NAS Oceana air show and selected The Bay Inn based on cost and the positive reviews. Also considered the negative reviews and was impressed by the response of the owner - both the willingness to respond and the content of the response.This is quiet, no-frills lodging. the room was clean and neat. Offered the necessary amenities of wi-fi, TV and toiletries. Saw many complaints about the bed, ours was perfect.If you are seeking a quiet, family oriented place to stay with beach access (across the street), then The Bay Inn would be a great low cost choice. It is our new go-to when staying overnight in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area.
