Caboose Motel

This motel is very fun. They have regular motel rooms, but they also have several old real train cabooses converted to rooms. They are great, decked out with a little kitchen area, bathroom, and of course a bedroom with a flat screen tv. I think some of them have bunk beds for families with kids. I highly recommend it, and the prices were very reasonable.

This motel is what i would call down to earth..Very clean,quite and the owners are fantastic people.Patti was very helpful and if i needed anything it was there before i could turn around...I spent  17 days there and i wouldnt hesitate to stay there again...Staying at the Caboose was alot better then your normal chain hotels...The owners really want your to have a pleasent stay and will go out of there way to make sure you do...Mopar will stay here anytime he is in the area...Thank you Patti......................................

Outstanding way to spend a night: in a real train caboose. Although rather spartan due to the size, it had a comfortable bed, and was most cozy. Neat way to cap off a little vacation for 2 or with kids. The manager even let us park our Goldwing under the awning so it would not get so wet if it rained,.

Caboose sleeping for a night

After reading up on the Caboose Motel, thought this would be a really unique place to stay overnight with the thought of bringing a group next summer. Sure am glad we tried it out first. Advertised as clean and newly renovated. Certainly not recently renovated (ad says been renting since 1986 and, I do believe the last time renovated). Had a hard time unlocking the door and when we did get in, all we saw were flies. Drove to local store to buy fly swatters, yikes! The caboose was fairly clean but extremely worn/used. We could not get the heater to work (got really cold) and in the morning, no hot water to take showers. Other guests were loud, heard swearing and dogs barking. The owners should reinvest or consider closing down.

Not What We Expected

We saw this place and thought it would be fun to stay in a Caboose, turns out they have other rooms that aren't in a caboose.  Our room smelled like mildew and there were dog hair all over our bed and I found and killed two fleas that were also on the bed!!!  I had to spray everything with big spray and we slept in our clothes and thankfully had our own pillow and blanket.  The tub had mould growing all over it.  This place was a disaster.  Thank goodness for cheap wine and bug spray.  We both agreed we would rather slept in the car.
