Robert is a fantastic host and the Loralei is a great place to stay. We stayed here last year and had no hesitation in rebooking when we returned to New York from the UK for 6 nights in October. As before breakfast was great, why cant we get bagels like that at home, and the accomodation perfect for myself and my daughter. Perfect location for the subway, just 2 blocks away .Above all, however, it was Robert and breakfast chats with other guests that brought us back. We will definitely return

Second stay..just as good as the first

My sister and I were thrilled with our stay at Loralei B&B! It is a very well-maintained Victorian house with all the modern conveniences a traveler needs. Both the room and attached bathroom were very spacious and comfortable. An added perk was the available parking, which is hard to find in NYC! Robert is a delightful and personable host who can answer any and all questions. I highly recommend this B&B and look forward to return visits.

What a great find!

We stayed at Loralei while visiting with family members. It was a wonderful stay - very comfortable accommodations with charming  hosts (Robert and Lance) in a beautifully restored home. The neighborhood is lovely with interesting restaurants and easy access to transportation. Looking forward to our next visit!

Great Stay in Brooklyn

The Gramercy Room was perfect for my Mother’s visit. This is a very calm, quiet, beautiful and friendly neighborhood.  This B&B was a comfortable and richly appointed Victorian home, yet with all the modern conveniences, between our trips into the city.  She enjoyed the excellent service and friendly informative conversation by the host Robert. I would highly recommend this B&B!

Perfect Room

My first trip to NYC was fantastic, in part, due to this wonderful B&B!  My husband and I visit many B&Bs across the country. This one had all that we have come to expect: lovely clean room, delicious breakfast, great coffee (a must for me), and a lovely shared area within the home. What this one has that makes it a step above, is the innkeeper!  Robert was exceptional. He patiently helped us with subway directions.  He didn’t just hand us a map, he gave us the ins and outs of express vs local, what the green globes mean, what to do when the metro card doesn’t register in the turnstile and more. His calm, kind demeanor was just what this slightly anxious first time visitor to NYC needed.  He knew when we needed help and he knew when we didn’t.  If I could rate this higher than 5, I would!

Yes Virginia, Northern Charm does exist!

Was in town for a wedding, and stayed here for a long weekend.  The host was very personable, accommodating, and takes pride in the place.  The location was very nice, and convenient to the subways. I prefer this homey type of place over the chain hotels, and this B&B seems very well run.

Excellent Value

This was our first visit to Loralei B&B. It is only two blocks from our son's apartment and only three blocks from the Newkirk Plaza subway stop. The convenience of its location was the first attraction for us. The lovely Victorian home is beautifully maintained and Robert was a wonderful host. The rooms are lovely and the breakfast was incredible (fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee/tea, fresh bread, pastries, cereal and gluten free goodies and soy milk for me since I have food allergies). Robert is very well informed and provided us with excellent directions to the subway and a list of restaurants in the area. It was great to have a driveway to park our car and not worry about moving it again during our visit. We each received a key to the house and were free to come and go as we pleased. The large front porch was a wonderful spot to take a break from sightseeing and take some family photos. It was a wonderful experience. We hope to stay there again on our next visit to Brooklyn. We recommend this B&B to everyone without reservation.

Beautiful Victorian B&B in Brooklyn

Excellent service, great breakfast. Just enough interaction, not too much, for a B&B. The historic building is gorgeous and the location is perfect. It's on a quiet, residential street in a super easy and convenient location. Minutes from the subway and shops and restaurants. It was perfect.

Wonderful place, really a gem.  The Lorelei is a lovely Victorian home, warm and welcoming, in a pleasant and quiet neighborhood.  It's less than a ten minute walk to the subway (Q on the weekends), and there are great restaurants in the area.  Welcoming and delightful, with a delicious fruit and pastry and cheese breakfast.  For those driving to NYC, being able to park for free in the driveway is such a huge plus.  We plan to be back the next time that we're in the city.

Delightful stay with a wonderful host.

I am a musician, and my boyfriend and I were in Brooklyn to do some work in a nearby recording studio.  I never stayed in a b & b in NYC before, and this was a wonderful experience.  The lovely Victorian house is spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully curated with items from the owners' travels to lands across the globe.  The neighborhood is great.  We felt very safe, comfortable, and cozy.We stayed in a suite that also had a nearby sitting room, as well as a very clean private bath.  Fresh towels each day and plenty of hot water.We were able to park in the driveway, which was incredibly helpful.The host Robert was very communicative and responsive leading up to the visit, and very friendly, helpful, and respectful in person.The breakfast provided had different delicious items each day of our stay - plenty of fresh fruit and bread, pastries, yoghurt, amazing coffee, nice tea selection, and more.We would definitely stay there again!
