I love the location. Close to shopping. 2 blocks from Macys and Target and H&M and Old Navy.  Lots of restaurants. Nice boutique hotel. GOOD Service. Will stay there again next few months on my next trip to NYC.

Nice Location

Right next to the empire state building...cool view from roof bar!!! We experienced friendly staff an eclectic lobby and comfortable beds. Plus an affordable towncar to the airport..so much better then a stinky taxi What else could you want while visiting the big apple?

Lovely boutique hotel

The hotel was fairly central - perhaps not in the most glamorous road in the city but at no point did I feel unsafe unlike previous reviewers. We were upgraded to a room on the 17th floor with a city view which was great as we looked out onto the Empire State Building. The rooms were comfortable and clean, though I would comment on the odd design of the fittings as functionality was obviously not a priority to the designer!  A minor quibble that didn't stop us enjoying our break! The best part of the hotel by far was the staff who without exception were amazing. They were welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble.  It was my "special" birthday whilst there and they came up to the room with balloons and a bottle of champagne.  They even wrote a card which was personally signed by various staff members which was a really thoughtful touch, unlike most hotels where you get a generic message. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in this amazing city and we would hesitate to recommend the hotel.

Nice hotel with super staff

Room on 12th floor had a view (if you crane your neck) of Empire State Bldg and spire of WTC.  Easy 2 block walk to MSG for the Billy Joel Concert.  Herald Square just 1 block away.  Shopping nearby, subway close, really fantastic staff (especially Patricia and Kathy)!!!
Room was good size with nice walk-in shower.
We lucked out with weather in 70's and sun so we could take drinks from bar up onto the roof.  What a view from there!!!  The roof bar must be a great place in the summer

Fantastic location

We traveled here to see the dog show and the location was great!  Our room was a little small for the 4 of us, but nicely appointed with a view of the Empire State Building.  The staff was great, and we enjoyed the breakfast options and lattes!  Walking distance to Times Square and MSG.

Very pleasant stay

Hyatt Herald Square is right off Broadway. It is a decent walk to Time Square. The hotel is clean and efficient. It is comfortable and has everything you need when you are on the road. It is right next to Korean Town. If you like Korean food, you will have many choices.

Great location and very functional hotel

Stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed the entire stay with no negative points. Initially we were greeted by Christina who was very welcoming and kindly upgraded our room free of charge. 

The room was well equipped, with the comfiest bed I've ever slept in. The location of the hotel is also a positive, with easy walking distance to many New York sites. Quick tip for people after a good priced breakfast nearby is market crates which is beside the empire state building.  I would highly recommend this hotel and not hesitate to revisit. 

Love it!

This was our fourth stay at a NY Hyatt and second at this hotel. The service has gone downhill. Two requests for towels were ignored. The room was very cold though the thermostat was set high. At our prior stay at an Andaz we noticed the rooms had not been maintained to the degree we'd expected, and found that here too.

Hotel was excellent! Price was reasonable, food was very good, and customer service at the front desk was excellent and they were very nice and accomodating! Location in the city was also decent. Definitely will go back! 

Stayed at Hyatt to go to Dodgers-Mets baseball game

Since I am short on time, the stats (spoiler: all are good except pillows):
  --Location: excellent
  --Staff: friendly and competent
  --Bed: good. Pillows are not very nice.
  --Restaurant: didn't go.
  --Shower / water pressure: decent
  --Common area: quite nice, very comfortable feel.
  --Internet: free, I had the complimentary high-speed but in general even the regular is fine for getting work done

Unfortunately, the dealbreaker for me here is that there's no good place to work.  I've stayed in two different types of room and neither one had a chair.  They have a small couch with a sort of fold-out table, and one room had a small desk with an ottoman.  I ended up working sitting on the bed both times.

If I were here for a non-working trip (or had no plans to do more than 5-10 minutes of work from the room) I'd definitely come here again.
