I tried cancelling just minutes after signing up, after realizing the website had switched dates. I got a message early the next morning saying she could only do a partilal refund, that the housekeepers were booked automatically. It was 2am in the morning, there was not a maid that left her house to go clean, it could've very easily been cancelled. So I end up losing over 600 dollars to her and VRBO, her not initiating a full refund on her end, allowed them to keep my taxes I paid for a condo I never checked into. Even VRBO asked her to fully refund the transaction since it was only a couple hours old by then, she still refused. No money or work had been done on her part, she just wanted to take free money, I guess. 

Bad customer service

I hate to leave a bad review! I hate doing it, but this needs to be said. 
Pros: The condos were beautiful.  They were clean! Pool fantastic!   The views beautiful.  The beaches incredible!  The locals kind!  
Now for the bad review part. 
 First, the small stuff. Too many fees.  Chair service is not included. Not really a family condo.  There are no beach toys or chairs to borrow. So bring your own. There are queen beds in the extra two rooms so people have to share. Now for the horrible part:
I say condos because we were relocated to a second one in a different building because this one was taken over by roaches.  I don’t mean a few.  I mean at one point I started counting. I killed over 20 of them in less than 30 minutes.   The second condo also had roaches. It was in Summerwind resort just down the block. The owner didn’t want to give us a refund and the management company felt so bad they moved us to a different condo. They put us in a really nice one, buy sadly it was also infested.  We live up North and while I am sure there are places with them I haven’t seen them.  These weren’t your Palamino bugs or water bugs. These were your typical house hold tiny to 1/2” roaches. My husband went back to the 1st unit just as the professional exterminator was coming in and the guy said to my husband, “Wow, we haven’t had a problem in this unit like this in 4 months.” This unit is in the Beach Colony West. We have rented in the East tower and never saw a bug. I do want to say that the management company did everything they could.  They were kind and sympathetic and did everything they could to try and rectify the situation. I just don’t think I can handle another vacation like this again.

I wish we could give negative stars. The condo owners of Beach Colony East 9A decided to cancel our reservation because they wanted to for that weekend.

The money had already been taken from our account. I guess their "real-time" calendar means jack.

This so-called "host" f@#$d a family get-away. Now my money is tied up and I was told it could take 5 business days to get it back. That means I can't rent anything else for the holiday because these jokers decided to take it upon themselves to cancel a confirmed, paid-in-full rental.

This was my first experience with vacasa and Vrbo and my last. The fact they can break a paid rental at a whim is appalling.

I would never, EVER rent from these owners again. If you use these buffoons, just know they can and WILL cancel your vacation at their convenience.

WORST CONDO OWNERS EVER!

Our owner told us 20 minutes before getting here there would be construction and our balcony is blocked by a plastic cover. We are unable to see over our balcony. If we had known we had no ocean view we could have booked elsewhere. Please be aware! We are not allowed to move plastic. We have been to Destin and Ft Walton Beach and have never ran into no ocean view that we paid for and jack hammers from 8-5 all day. Awful experience  and unethical to not let us know. We ran into an owner who told us construction would be going on most of the summer and the owners should have told us as they have know for a while. Many unhappy vacationers here.

Construction East Building

We have stayed here for many weekly visits.  Location on the beach is excellent.   Stunning views.  The condo we rent that we enjoy offers very nice patio furniture which can vary from unit to unit, and a must to be included is the two beach chairs and umbrella for the week.  Some don't offer this,  but it's must have!  Navarre is a welcome change over Destin.  Quieter without all the crowds!!  We love Navarre!!! We love Beach Colony.  It's one of our top top happy places.  Would live here hands down if we could.  Highly highly recommend Beach Colony!!  

Always Return

While I absolutely loved the condo we stayed in (Beach Colony Tower 9A), we will NEVER go through LCV again.  We paid for a 7 night stay and 3 nights in we had to evacuate because of Hurricane Sally.  LCV refused to give a refund or even a credit for the remaining 4 nights.  No we did not take out the insurance, but after reading the policy, it would not have mattered because the evacuation was voluntary and not mandatory.  Had we stayed we would have endangered out lives, had to stay in a condo with no power or water and had damage to our truck from the floods.  

We had inquired before evacuating if we could get a credit and one girl told us that she could ask the owners but when we called back to tell them that we were leaving the next woman was very unfriendly and told us it was against policy to issue a refund or credit.

What kind of company has a policy like that?!?  I refuse to ever do business with a company that puts money over the lives of their guests, especially when the Governor of their state is requesting that all non-residents leave!

Not only will I never use LCV again, but I plan to let everyone I know about their business practice.  We travel to the gulf 3 or 4 times a year and have never dealt with people like this!

Stay in condo but avoid Luxury Coastal Vacations

This is a must-go-to spot for the most stunning view on the beach. This penthouse is flawless and beautiful! Gone Coastal Property Management some of the best rentals on the emerald coast and the owners make your experience seamless and magical!

My party of 6 stayed in Beach Colony East, room 19D.
We arrived 10/5 and stayed until 10/12
Everything about this complex was great.  Parking was on site, covered and not crowded.  There were only 2 elevators, but we never waited "long".  The pool is MASSIVE and there were plenty of chairs during our stay.  The sand... oh my gosh... the sand on this beach is incredible.  We've stayed all over, including Siesta Key, and this beach is as good as - if not better.  Easy walk from the condo, too.

The room was a tick worn, as it relates to needing some new furniture and some new paint/touching up, but the price was right and the balcony and view were incredible.  There were a few issues we had during our stay, but the complex management was RIGHT on it.  They responded quick to emails, and took care of us.  The management company we rented from was Beach Rentals at Navarre.  

This is a quiet area, so if you're into night life options - you'll need to drive a bit.  We ate out 4 nights, and cooked 3 nights.  Had a 100% blast.  Highly recommend Ye Olde Brothers Brewery (kid friendly) and Johnny Huston's Sports Bar (also kid friendly) and Stripes Grill and Pub (also kid friendly)  :)

We will be back to the Beach Colony!!  :D

Top Floor - Top Notch - Wil return!!

We stayed here for a softball tournament as they were one of the host hotels.  If you drive a SUV or truck you have to pray for a open space of about 20 available. So one night they gave us a pass to park at the resort next door. Ok. Not horrible.2 days later they call bright and early and say we have to move the truck. Can't park there and had no where for us to park! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! OFFERED TO MOVE US TO THEIR SISTER HOTEL! WE'RE WITH A TEAM! If they can't accomodate teams that have SUV's and Trucks they shouldn't sign up to be one of the event hosting hotels/resorts!! On our last night we once again came back to no parking! Asked for a refund of that night and was told sorry we could only have 25%!! For all the hassle and trouble we had that is flat out pathetic!  ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! 70.00 for 9 days of a headache!! We brought a entire softball team and their Families to this resort expecting a fun relaxing time and got a horrible stay instead! Parents being told by staff that they "needed to understand that having a parking space wasn't a requirement". However they advertise free parking but that is a flat out lie and make no effort to warn guests that they have limited space for Trucks and SUV's.  The carpet was dirty and left your feet black, the kitchen was tiny with barely any pots/pans, bowls or silverware. And houskeeping left our door standing open after they cleaned it one day. We will never as a group or individually recommend or stay at this resort again!!

worst beach trip ever

My family stayed a week here and it was awesome. The room was so nice we hated to leave! The staff was great and so helpful. Shelley Darch went above and beyond to take care of us and make sure our stay was pleasant! I would recommend staying here and ask for Shellie Darch, she is amazing, the best!!!
