Our recent stay was wonderful as usual. The rooms are immaculate and the location is fabulous with Scarborough Beach across the street. Rates are reasonable and the self check-in makes it so easy. I want to keep this place a secret but they deserve a very positive review.

Geat stay at the Anchor Motel

We booked several rooms at the Anchor for my daughter's wedding based on the great reviews. The motel did not disappoint! I had room #14 as a MOB should have the best room in the house. We had booked about 80% of the rooms there. I received many thanks from our family and friends for directing everyone to the motel; everyone was very pleased with the accommodations.  They don't do room blocks but the prices are competitive and even less than the big box hotels room block prices further away from Ocean Rd. The location was ideal, we were close to the wedding venue and oceanside eateries, walking trails etc. The accommodations were excellent, comfy mattresses, very clean rooms, no musty motel smell. an ocean view from every room. You can see the commitment and investment of this family run motel. Many recent upgrades: trek deck porches, solar panels, inside & outside lighting, and more.  A great experience was had by all!!

The "Hilton" of motels

I booked this place for location and that is the best thing about this place, maybe it was our room close to the lobby but the stay was not comfortable. The beds had older firm mattresses, the tv was a little bigger than a computer monitor, rooms were hot but ac was so loud!! Towels were old which is fine but they had an unpleasant smell and you can’t have you blinds open as some guests were right outside smoking and right out your window. When we did have the window open you could hear the ocean which was nice. It just wasn’t how it appeared in photos. The guests were friendly and I did like the keyless entry but we won’t be staying here again.

Disappointed but close to beach

This motel is steps away from the ocean.  This is our 35th year visiting Narragansett. Only our 2nd stay here. I have one regret we didn't stay here all those years. Super clean rooms, wonderful family owned, morning fresh brewed coffee and steps to the ocean.  It is now our go to place when in RI. Can't wait for our next trip.

needed one overnight while visiting family in Narragansett.
Christine and her mom were most hospitable and were able to give me that one night. VERY comfortable room, nicely, nautically decorated. Clean, efficient and just what I was looking for...even better.
Will return without question but with much hope as they are very popular!! Thank you, Christine and Gail.

PERFECT!

We just can't say enough about this little and gem of a motel. It's location is sublime, being just across the street from one of the most beautiful stretches of Beach that we have ever seen. The room was clean and cute and had all of the basics. The staff were accommodating and lovely to deal with. I would recommend that anybody who makes it to Rhode Island take the time to come to this beach, and if you do, stay at this motel.

Gem in beach heaven 

Loved staying at the B & B part of The Anchor Motel. The room was spotless and cheerfully decorated...loved the seashell printed sheets. The location was wonderful and I would most definitely stay there again. We had a nice view of Scarborough Beach, which was just across the street.   Great muffins at breakfast, too. The family who runs the motel were so nice and obviously take pride in their "home."

Great and Charming Accommodations by the Beach

My sons and I stayed at the Motel for 4 nights, 5 days. It was great being able to walk directly across the street to the beach with the kids and the beach wagon. We didn’t have to pay for additional beach parking. The road to cross to the beach was never busy for us. The room was clean and there were plenty of towels and hot water after a day in the sand. The mini fridge/freezer was great for bringing our own food to make breakfasts and to-go lunches. The free coffee (and donuts) provided in the office in the morning was a wonderful addition and only a few steps away. Check in and out was very easy! We will be staying again!

Great Motel

My husband and I stayed for 6 days in Room #11 and loved everything about the motel, especially being able to walk across the street to enjoy the beach.  We were afraid the road would be busy, but it was only when the beach was open 9-6 each day.  The staff is so nice, accommodating and friendly.  One of the cleanest rooms we've stayed in and though not as spacious as the nearby Fairfield Inn or Hampton Inn in South Kingstown, we would definitely stay at The Anchor Motel again. We found the new check-in, other changes since Covid to be no problem when we needed anything.  Either leaving items to be refreshed on our front porch or texting the staff was quick and easy.  Hope to return next summer!

Great Motel and Location

The Anchor is an adorable, family run motel across the street from Scarborough Beach. The rooms are efficient and clean. A little fridge in each. Did I mention across the street from the beach? We have stayed here every year for 5 or 6 years, as do our siblings. A perfect beach motel.
