Loved the property and location was sublime.  Our room was ground floor with outside door entrance.  There was no deadbolt or security lock on the door.  When I approached the front desk about this they gave me a perplexed look.  NONE of their hotel rooms had security locks.  I asked for the hotel manager to speak with me ASAP as they could easily had a handy man install a security lock.  Each night we pushed our couch against the door for extra protection. We were there 3 days and never saw the manager.  Spoke times with the front desk at check out and were given a refund for our inconvenience.  6 weeks later still no refund on my credit card.  Had to write to the manager about this and again ask her to contact me about me concerns.  3 weeks since my letter and I have received my refund but no contact from the manager, not a letter, email, phone call nothing.  Sooooo.  Here is my review.

Beautiful property but poor hotel room safety

I was in the rear two story building on the first floor. Room#15. Tiny, but I was ok with that. Why they call it a patio room, is beyond me.
The bed and tv were fine. Everything else? Ugh. Noise all night long from the roof mounted ventilation system on the main building. Unable to darken the room adequately. A strange sink setup, where you couldn't wash your face, or do much at all with it except wash your hands. I won't comment on the price, as these negatives would be unacceptable at any price.
Whoever was above me, wouldn't settle down until 2am.
Minimal breakfast offering.
I mentioned my dissatisfaction when I was checking out. A "Sorry" didn't make me feel any better about the situation.

Unsatisfactory

Not only did they remember me from my first stay exactly 1 year ago, they also remembered that I came to surf and left some wax in the room with a Welcome Back note!  I think this says everything you need to know.

Your extremely close proximity to the ocean (right in front of you), the room views, exceptionally friendly staff, and quality overall make staying here necessary and a great experience.

The 2nd Time Even Better!

The shore house is an amazing place to be with your family! Staff is so friendly and management is excellent, Luciana Arbogast was always making sure we were having a pleasant stay with a a beautiful smile on her face! The room is very clean and we love the renovations! Not to mentioned the location which is a block away from the beach! We also enjoyed a nice dinner with the ocean view served by Matt! I recommend it 100% Luciana made my daughter’s birthday to be very special!

Luciana is an excellent manager, hospitable and helpful. But the physical condition and amenities at the hotel are very disappointing. We splurged on rooms 2 and 3, “king balcony” rooms which have an ocean view and cost $500/night. Beware especially of room 2, which has a tiny windowless bathroom accessed by two steep, uneven stairs. The closet door in Room 2 is impossible to close, so you are always staring at your coat hangers. Room 3 is the blue room on the website photo, which does not show the holes in the screen door and the bent screen frame, the rusty chairs on the deck (which needs to be cleaned of algae), the tired, scuffed chair, or the tangle of cables hanging from the TV (which can't be adjusted to be easily viewed from the bed). Pillows were lumpy. The website promises Frette kimono and slippers, which did not exist. Other non-existent items I’d expect in a room at this price at minimum include a deadbolt or privacy lock on the door, a safe, an extra blanket, good light at the bathroom mirror and a light in the closet. (I would not expect to find the missing lower pneumatic cylinder from the screen door thrown onto the back of the closet shelf.)  The lobby was staged for the photos with much classier furniture than the tired stuff that’s actually there. The waitstaff from the restaurant run through the lobby on the way to the kitchen, so lobby furniture is awkwardly pushed up against the fireplace.

Disappointing, overpriced

My sister & I just spent 4 beautiful days @ the Shore House in gorgeous Narragansett this past week. The accommodations of the newly  renovated Shore House were perfect! 
The staff was so friendly &  considerate  to all our needs. The general manager, Luciana Arbogast was always smiling & asking what she could do to make our stay a better experience. There was nothing they could change to make our stay more pleasant . It was PERFECT!  I highly recommend the Shore House with Luciana Arbogast in charge!

Shore House

I went for a short 4 days trip and had an amazing and relaxing experience. As soon as I arrived I had the chance to meet the manager, Luciana, and she was very kind and helpful. She gave me great tips on where to go and what to do, always smiling, a great person. Also, they have a delicious restaurant called Sea Craft, a great place to have a drink or eat.
The room was amazing, so comfortable and cozy and I love the setup. They also have some bicycles available for guests to ride along the water. I ended my trip fully recharged and ready to go back to "real life".

Had a wonderful stay at the shore house

The staff at the Shore House was incredible. They were dealing with the effects of flooding caused by Hurricane Ida but went above and beyond to fix every issue that the storm created. The rooms were quaint and clean. The location is incredible. Carly was fantastic at the front desk. The rental bikes were awesome to crusie around Narragansett in. 

We will be staying there again!

Making you feel like family

I stayed here in 2017 when it was the ocean rose, back the it was mediocre,  when I saw their statement saying improvements I thought sure, they slapped on a coat of paint. When I got there I was amazed, they actually gutted the rooms and re-built them, I couldn't believe it was the same place. From dingy little mildewed shower curtain bathrooms to bright new wide glassed in shower. New floors throughout.
A vast improvement from the last time. 
The only bad thing about the stay was, there was a thunderstorm that flooded the basement and shorted out the fire alarm system at 3AM, the fire alarms were going off all night. Other than that 5 stars. There is an on site restaurant that is a separate business.  (Ridiculously Expensive).

Great Place

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at The Shore House. The location is perfect, right across the street from the ocean. We took long walks along the beach every day of our visit, which was great. We thought we would put on weight during the trip due to the clam cakes and chowder, but we stayed the same weight, probably due to the great daily walks. The staff at the hotel is wonderful. They are very accommodating and easy to talk with. The location is very convenient to walk to restaurants, stores, etc. We had a couple of things in our room that could be improved, but nothing significant. WE would happily stay there again, especially if the staff, including Luciana and Courtney are still there.
