We were checking in after 11PM, but they called us with instructions how to get into our room. The room and the location of the hotel were excellent. Will definitely stay again if in the vicinity.

Much better than expected for a small town in the middle of nowhere.I liked the inside hallway for added safety. The cinder block walls provided good sound proofing.My bed was softer than I prefer but overall comfortable.Staff were extremely helpful and friendly

The room and bathroom appeared to be recently remodeled. Everything was very clean for a great price.

Other than not having a breakfast, the big chain hotels have nothing on this hidden jem.

Staff was friendly. Rooms were nice. We've already said to ourselves we will come back o our next trip west

Perfect place to stay!! Clean, friendly, quiet, room was everything we needed plus for a one night stay. Would highly recommend to anyone. Would definitely stay here again if ever this way.

Nicely updated- great price. Simple accommodation. Just what we needed on our way home.

As soon as I walked into the lobby I could tell this property was well cared for, and as expected my room was very clean and comfortable. I loved the non-carpeted flooring, where bugs and dirt can't hide. There is a small refrigerator with a separate freezer. This was great for someone traveling with food in a cooler. The room is big and has a big comfy chair for watching TV. The other great thing about this room is that it is not glowing with multiple lights all over the place. Since the property is all on one floor it was really easy to bring my things into the room. This is the perfect place for someone to take a rest after being on the road.

I was very skeptical at first, as it is a modest building, but the person who greeted us at the desk was friendly and informative.--we learned so much from him, and we appreciated the personal artifacts and artwork  that decorated the outside and hallways.   Murdo is barely on the radar, but we were very pleasantly surprised (we usually stay in Hiltons :-)  We departed with hopes that it will be there for others to enjoy in the future.

Pleasantly surprised

I was rather hesitant booking due to the variety of pictures in the listings (some have updated rooms and some have older looking rooms). However, I was very please upon arrival. Very clean, nice comfortable bed, and great shower pressure/temp. My only con was there is only a blind over the windows. A curtain to block out the light seeing through would be helpful (as someone who can’t sleep with any lights on).

Looks can be deceiving, this appears to be an older building but everything has been updated. The rooms are good size, with very comfortable beds, larger mini fridge so everything you brought will fit, and very clean. Staff is wonderful, very helpful with surrounding area. Everything you may want to see in Murdo is just a short walk from here. 10/10 would stay again.

Very comfortable stay, very clean.  Privately owned facility and well taken-care-of.Only one other person has mentioned this, but if it matters to you -- the pillows are a little small & the material is compact, which made them hard.  For me, the pillow is hugely important to the quality of sleep, so I didn't sleep very well.  But this is a small detail, and it may not matter to others.  It is a DELIGHTFUL establishment.

Very nice stay

What a pleasant surprise!  For being a small hotel in a town with hardly anything else (try to find a place to eat) I was impressed with my room there.  It seems as if it were recently overhaul, and they did a great job (on my room anyway-#101).  The bed was comfortable, and there was a small recliner to kick back in!  Great water pressure in the shower as well.

Great place to stay near 1880 town.

We enjoyed our overnight stay here. The check in procedure was so simple and fast. Although I had made a reservation on a travel site very shortly before arrival, they had the key and receipt ready. The room was very clean and was comfortable. I felt safe walking laps in the parking lot. Would stay here again!

Pleasant, would stay again

Friendly guy at the front desk. He was very helpful and informative. The room was clean and had everything you may need. It looks recently renovated with new flooring, furniture, and paint. We enjoyed our one night stay here and were thankful to be here when a big, severe storm blew through. The walls are concrete block and the man at the front desk said if it got really bad to go into the bathroom as that was the safest place. We had already decided that was where we would go but it was really nice knowing that he was looking out for his guests.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here. It looks like an ordinary motel just a block off the interstate. We were 1st drawn in by the classic cars parked out front (and it's right next to the pretty incredible Pioneer Auto Museum). They were joined by a motorcycle this year. This place is interesting. Jim, the owner, designed and decorated the rooms. He also built most of the furniture. Very comfortable. You could spend an hour just checking out all of the posters and fotos in the hallways.

An unusually nice motel

OMG!  The best motel value in my 76 years.  I was blown away by the cleanliness, great bed (9 hrs sleep), terrific shower, nice towels, and friendly personal welcome by the owner.  I’m sure my wife would love it even though a Hampton or Holiday in Express is her choice.  I left a $20 tip as a token of appreciation  Also, be sure to eat at the Star Restaurant down the road!
