I've stayed multiple nights and enjoyed it all. Very friendly. Open BBQ to all guests- even if you didn't cook it, you're almost always welcome to the food. Clean rooms. Vic is top notch at making you feel welcomed. He's extremely helpful and tentative.  Great water pressure, cable, wifi. Definately going back.

Great place

I came to this area to see the waterfalls.  I came across this small motel. I checked a lot of motels online and most were booked and had no rooms.  This was small, still has a big boxy tv. But does have cable and internet. Has small frig and microwave.  Room dated but clean. The clerk friendly and helpful.  

You pay for the location 

Having chosen a bad time to travel to Watkins Glen, we ended up getting what was purported to be the last vacant motel room nearby. Probably due to the timing (4th of July weekend) and our desperation, we paid way too much for this place. The clerk/manager was friendly and helpful- he just works there so he's not responsible for the place. It had very thin walls so we could hear everything going on in the next room. The room was a bit dingy, and the bed seemed very old and worn out. There were cigarette burns on the bedding. No mat at the door for wiping muddy feet. Overall not terrible, I've seen worse, but only recommend it if you are desperate like we were. 

Overpriced, bare bones

Well let's start with the stale air stench when I opened the door. Then the cigarette burns on the bed cover. Then the "guest" a few doors down who had just been placed at the motel through social services. The walls are paper thin. We stayed on Labor Day weekend so we didn't have much choice due to the late reservation. But, any other choice would have been better. 

Also, had to file a dispute with my credit card company because I was double billed. The desk clerk who seemed like the one bright light in the place hung up on me when I asked for an email address to send him the credit card statement with the double billing. He said the motel only had a fax machine no email. Then he described the motel as the "b...... child" of the owners properties.

Worst overnight stay I've ever experienced

A few friends recently stayed at the Relax Inn - we have stayed in our fair share of motels at all price points so we know what to expect regarding quality vs price when we book a stay. This motel was priced on the very high end for a motel of this caliber. This motel should have been priced significantly lower than the rate we paid (i.e. I would expect this motel to be $50/night) unfortunately we did not check the reviews before staying here.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by the front desk who was very polite and friendly - he was one of the only redeeming parts of the stay.

The motel is in serious need of an upgrade/repairs - the tiles in the bathroom were broken, the toilet is literally one foot from the wall so you have to be a smaller person to even sit on the toilet without bumping your head on the wall.

The lamp shade was broken, the sheets did not fit the bed and you would wake in the night to find you were sleeping on the bare mattress. The linens were stained brown, grey, yellow (though I hope they were laundered) the pillowcases had mascara and makeup smear stains on them. The bedspread had a blood stain (which I squirted hand sanitizer all over to be safe) The towels were grey and in one instance had a brown stain on it... please tell me that isn't what I think it is...

My socks turned brown just walking over the floor a few feet. The room has a sign that says no smoking but there were cigarette burn holes in the blankets and desk chair. 

Amenities: The motel advertises free local calls but there is no phone in the room. There is no clock either. Free breakfast was advertised but we did not see any during our stay. No hair dryer or iron but the info says you can request these items from the front desk. You get the basic linens - one towel, one wash cloth, one small bath towel per person. Shampoo bottle was half empty at our arrival. We were not given soap every day and had to request it. Garbage is emptied daily and your bed will be made but that is about it. 

Noise: it was quiet at the motel however the walls between units are extremely thin - you can hear conversations clearly through the wall.

Bottom line: Know what you are getting before booking a stay here. A few miles down the road there are other motels that seem to be in better repair and at the same price point.

Hopefully the owner will read this review and invest some money in the property and make it a nice place to stay. The location is good and the staff is helpful but the property is a thumbs down.

Property is in disrepair, Poor value - stay at another motel

We would never stay here again! Faucets loose on bathroom sink. Couldn't plug in heating/coming unit, no coffee, and no breakfast. It was fairly clean for the age of the building, but NOT worth the money.

Room not good...

Skieved out! Fleas in bed, ac filter filthy. Stinky smells, I went and found a new place. Checked out and received a full refund. Reviewed this place before booking, however never saw all these bad reviews.

Don't stay

Please don’t stay here!!  I just got home from my Doctor. I now have flea bites on my legs and arms as well as pink eye!  Dingy, towels were paper thin, stained bed sheets, bugs in the bed. Incredibly overpriced due to Nascar weekend!  Read other reviews before you even consider staying here.
